Had a olds 455 stuffed into a 77 TA when i was young. The guy who i bought it from actually welded mounts and chained down the tourq side.
Thing blew heat on the floor boards, no AC and lived in Tampa. I cracked the block after putting cold water in it after it over heated and blew off a 160 cap lol.

My first truck was a 1979 Chevy Scotsdale with a 451.  The original owner got so he could haul horses around the country.  I got about 6 miles per gallon city.  The funny thing was I could get around 12 mi. per on the freeway.  Good thing gas was cheap back then.

UPDATE: That big azz CAI unit went in without a hitch. 1/2 hour!!!
Now...That cut outs will not go in. Behind the cats (wich can't come out) There are 2 resonatores before the bend to the duel exahsast!!
No room.
Option #1. Don't put them in. #2 cut the resonators out and put strait pipes to the mufflers and weld in the Y pipes and cut outs.
Prob with that is the car may be TOO loud with them open. And the car is going to be louder without the resonators with it closed!
CHIT!!! I'v been advised to not do it buy my mech friend. SO.... with my great wisdom....Resonaters are already cut out LOL and strait pipes going in!
Will only take to cut it back out if it's to much and weld back the old.
I GOTTA try it no? The real issue is i can't put the Y pipes level. I'm loseing clearence. And it's LOW to begin with. I could bottom out and rip off my whole system.
IT'S going in and will see if it can handle reg road travel and speed bumps. SLOW...Wich i do any way.

I came across this picture and it has given me a whole new idea on how to get to my riding areas.  I love it!

The quarter mile is all about power.  My Vote goes to the vette.  A Half track is also all about power.  You just drag race from corner to corner.  Again I vote for the Vette.

If put on a track with a lot of twisties The more nimple german car will have a definite advantage against the older model vette.
If it was a '06 or newer Vette I would say it is more about the driver on a twisty track.

"Skip, would you put it in?"

Me? No - but I'm not the 'nefarious' Woods!

In the quarter mile, he'll take me - he's got the weight to put that power to the ground, and I don't.  0-60 (stoplight racing) - I've got him.  Mine will do a consistent 0-60 in 3.5-3.7 seconds, and I can do it in 1st, which means I don't have the risk of smoking the tires on the 1-2 shift.

Track with twisties?  Bye Bye, Mr Woods

I need more info.

What is the front/back weight split on the Vette and Porsche.

What is the power to weight ratio on the 2.

What is the HP on the Turbo Skip? What psi boost?

I am thinking the Porsche will hook up before the Vette.

Porsche 29/71 (FR/RR)

480HP/505 Ft Lbs - 3494.3 lbs curb weight.

Not sure on the boost PSI.

The Porsche traction control keeps thing in check fot the launch, but hit second (or third) WFO, and the tires just smoke.... and that's with new Michelin Pilot Sport (RR compound, z-rated)

Those are massive hp/torque #'s for a fairly light car.

Tell me about it!  Without the PSM stability computer, the car is undriveable... as a matter of fact, I'm told by the dealer that if the PSM computer detects a fault it sends a signal to cut the ignition above a certain RPM and puts the car in 'limp home mode' - 1/2 or less of it's rated HP.

It literally requires a stability management system in order to be driveable...
