Why did you decide to get a 125 when you have a big' ol 250?

In a word - fun. Nothing - and I mean nothing - is more pure fun than 125. A 250F or 250 2-stroke will out-gun it, but it's just not nearly as merry as ringing the nuts out of a 125!

I've given it serious thought, Chud - don't tempt me!
Although a graciously accept your warm welcome, the truth is I have more hours logged on 125's than all the other bikes I've owned combined! I love 'em! This was the first season I didn't have a 125, and I missed it too much...

Glad to hear it!! congrats skip!! was it new or used?? price?? I know you're gonna love it!!
Dave never did give us his opinion on his sons bike did he??
I do strongly suggest the procircut pipe for better mid and up power, and it adds a lot more overrev. jmo!!

New for $4,699 +tax.
It'll be like my 3rd YZ125 - great bikes!
I don't recall Dave giving us the lowdown, but I'm sure he will...
I may put the PC pipe on, but first I'm going 1 tooth up on the rear cog, and see how I like it. From what I have heard, this last-generation motor rips bone stock

yes going to a 49 rear makes it much easier to keep on the pipe (im running a 49) I went 10 years without owning a 125, but i will say 1 ride on my 06 125 (it was stock) doomed my 03 yz250. I never rode it again. you will find that the bike topps out very quickly and your shifter foot will be sore for a while!! but the handling is amazing, throw on a 756 front tire (pending the 403 b-stone comparison) and if you can wash out the front end its your fault. youve already tasted the suspension prowess on your 250's its much better on a 190lb bike.

The only thing better than ringing out a 125 is having your buddy on one too. 125s are great because most competant riders can push them to the limits. Then when you and a friend have them both rung out and are racing to each corner it's just a blast.

They are a lot like riding the go carts at the arcade. Everyone is so equal and there gets to be some tight racing.
