Ok so this part of the link didn't make it. After only one season the lower bearing must have taken on some water and rusted.

Generally the first thing i do is clean most of the grim away and then apply some heat before i tap the bearing out.
![]()
I just use a socket and extension on a solid surface.
![]()
next I find it best to freeze the bearings for about 20-30 minutes and reheat the aluminum link housing.
![]() Finally I use the bench vise as a press and squeeze the bearing into place. Take care to square the bearing first and when straight they usually slide in easily. If not its a sign its not square.

And toaster strudels!
I will avoid the water xings from now on. Just kidding, w/ all the rain we have had, I'm gonna bury my bike in mud this weekend, and than wish I hadn't.
You grease your bearings 1-2 times a year and they still rusted. That drives home the importance of greasing your bearings regularly.

Nobody's gonna hurt anybody. We're gonna be like little Fonzies here. And what's Fonzie like? Come on what's Fonzie like?

Yeah its always hit or miss. when i look in there. I always keep a spare set of pivot works bearings on hand. If u watch ebay u can find good deals on em.
That lower shock pivot was the only one to go all others were fine.

Ok, so The chocolate santa showed up yesterday with my new (used) cases and i threw them in the wash tank and gave em a good bath.

Also the big bore kit (270) + 3mm came in from Eric Gorr.

And for chits and giggles I squirted some paint on the side covers to dress them up a ***

Still waiting for the engine bearings, but thats about it. Once i get them I can start to assemble everything.
