I just the top end  of an 84 CR250R and I cannot get it to idle, I have cleaned the carb and the jets twice, I chan adjust the mix screw on the Keihin PE 36 caeb to no avail and I when I screw in the Idle adjust screw it has no effect. I can keep the bike running with the throttle and it runs excellent when I reach 50% throttle but let off of the gas and it stalls out. I am beating my head against the wall. I am running premium gas with synthetic oil and octanr booost. Any sugestions

Right, what premix ratio are you running?
And what jets are in there now? Ie. main and pilot?

did it idle before?? what top end components did you replace and why??
you may need to break it in a little bit before
adjusting the idle JMO

I am using a 30 - 1 premix I know that this is a little rich but I just replaced the piston, Rings, and honed the Cylinder,
Main Jet = 152
Slow jet = 68
Needle Jet = ??
Needle Clip pos 2nd from the top

I should mention that I just bought this bike in parts as a project bike. The guy that I bought it from said that it was running good, but It had some oil leaks from the right side into the case I fixed all of those problems. So far everything that I was told about the condition was spot on so I believe him when he says that it was running good.

complete the break in process, be patient.
you may need to clean the idle circuts in the carb
(remember that bike is 24yrs old)
