MissLovell: You probably just have to get more comfortable on your bike and let it carry you through the turns - that's how I do it when bikes are too tall for me.
Yeah, like YZWoods said. You would be surprised how motivated you can be and how much effort you can muster up when the choice is save it or fall embarrasingly in front of your buddies

My buddy is right around your height, maybe an inch shorter and he's pretty good on a CRF 450. I'd give it some more time to get used to it.

very nice, now after you have confused someone that i was trying to help set their sag, you make a new thread.
i am 5 8 and have no problems in the woods, every once in a while i get caught in a bad place. and i definitely wouldnt have took the bike to a dealer. there are only 2 things they can do correctly. install tires and change bearings. when they have to do something that actually involves thinking such as suspension or carburater work, they are completely lost.
i think you should let the suspension break in then set your sag and you would be fine. correctly set sag can make a big difference.

dude... the only reason i started this thread is b/c you frigging yelled at me on the other one (even though my question fit right in over there). anyway... i'm gonna ride it for a couple of more weekends befor i do anything major. tight trees and hills with a lot of obsticals are the biggest issues (and turning around on tight trails without getting off). i'm gonna try and adjust to the height, but i want to keep my options open for the long haul.

yep i am glad you made a new thread because even though you may think they are the same, they arent. but its not that big of a deal. i think your going to have to get off to turn around anyways. unless your on a pw80. at least that is how my trails are.

ok... well, spent all weekend riding and although i am getting used to the art of planning my stops (looking for logs, rocks, dirt) i can't help but think of how awesome a few less inches of seat height will be. Yama-link got here yesterday, bike goes in on thursday. will ride again this weekend and post the results.

Do you live in South Carolina? Or by the Lake Murray in South Carolina? If you do we got to ride together sometime!
