crf100/xr100 would last longer than both of those, how tall and what weight?

He is about 68lbs, 55inches tall. The CRF80 is taller than the TTR 110. Since one is a clutch and the other isnt, Which one is going to have more power?

i was maybe 10 lbs more than that when i got my xr100, and the xr is the same height as the crf80 i think, so i think the 100 would be better, cuz once he gets the hang of that clutch and power, hes gonna want more probly, i know i do, but the 80 would still probly be better than the ttr, cuz he'll outgrow that really fast

The 100 is a bit tall. We sat him on the crf80 and he is on his tippy toes. The 100 I believe is another inch or 2 taller and overall bigger not to mention heavier. Let me add this to the mix....This bike is going to be used for trail riding. If you ask my son he wants something with a clutch. After spending hrs. of research on the internet, the kx65 has sparked my curosity. I have read it is lighter, a race bike but can be used for trail riding however my husband disagrees...says a race bike is not meant for trail riding with a concern that the plugs will foul up, does not like stop and go or idling but rather runs better full out etc. What do you think?? Bottom line, what is the best bike for what my son will be doing?? He has been riding a PW50 & a 80c quad for yrs but a dirt bike with a clutch will be new. Thank you for your time.

the kx would be better and last longer than both the crf80 and the ttr, and as long as its jetted and ridden right it will work for trails, check out the ktm 65xc, its more of a trail oriented 2 stroke 65, with a clutch

yeah, I wouldn't take a kx65 on trials, but the KTM 65XC would be nice or an CRF80F over the 110 because you have 5 gears over 4 and a clutch

It's not that big of a difference compared to an 80.

get him a xr100r it is a very very good reliable bike for starters it never breaks down, just get him like a 2000model and let him ride it for about 2 year then take him to a rm85 or a crf150r
Just always spend about 25minz on it about every 3 rides, check the bolts and sutff lube the chain and change the oil every year and thats it.
and a xr100r will cream a ttr110.
and a crf80 will cream a ttr110 so take the ttr110 out of the list
your 10 you got to start learning to use the clutch so then when your 12 years p;d my age you can upgrade to a yz85 like me Just test ride the crf80 and the xr100r
I think go with the xr100r it will last you 2 years not like the crf80
TRUST ME GET THE XR100R in 1 year you will be saying i should of listened to honda96 good luck
