Can anybody recommend a chest protector and hydration pack that work together. Do you wear the hydration pack under the chest proctector?

I use a CamelBak as my hydration pack.

This is similar to the model I use:

You will need to make sure it has straps at the bust(chest) line atleast(otherwise it will fall while riding) and around your waist.

it depends on what your talking about. most people wear roost deflector but think they are chect protectors. a roost deflector can help if you wreck but thats now what its designed for.

I want some kind of chest protection, I know i am going down at some point in the ride. I have been riding with out one and everyone says you need to have a chest protector. Maybe what they are refering to is a roost protector. Many of my friends that ride race motorcross and have some protection, again maybe it is considered roost protection. But I ride trails and just want something in case!

We call em chest protectors also. I just saw an ad for a combo. chest protector-hydration pack. Look in the current issue of DR, I think it's in there.

Yes, I wear a chest protector(really is called a 'roost deflector' now) with my camelbak.

I put the straps underneath the shoulder pads with the camelbak on top of backplate of chest/roost protector.

Oops, maybe there is a difference between chest & roost deflectors?

What I've been TOLD at mx shops is that they changed the name of the product because they can't fully claim it will protector you from any chest injuries.  This may be wrong?

no your right lindsey. i call it a chest protecter too but now they have actual chest protectors that protect you. the roost deflectors are plastic and they do help, they helped me from breaking several ribs one time. but the new chest protectors are made of padding i guess. i dont know a whole about them.

There the same thing just called differently.
Some are shorter on your chest then others and fit differently.
They can help alot in a front fall as well as roost. If not the right one for your application and right size then you will get alot of chafe and distraction while riding in the woods. Can's speak for track.
