Thinking of making the jump from a 2-stroke to a 4-stoke. I currently have a KX 250 and really only ride in the woods/trails and love the thing! Some have told me that jumping to a 450 4-stroke would would be fun, but would be too much power and too heavey and slow me down in the woods. I just wouldn't be able to throw it around like I do the 2-stroke 250. But I would kick butt on a track or sand. Anyone out there come from the same spot. Any 4-stroker better than the others? Honda? Kawai? Yami? And what about the maintenece?

yes a 450 four stroke is a lot heavier that your 250 2 stroke, you would just need to get used to the feel of the bike. but 4 strokes are much better for trail riding than 2 strokes because they have so much more low end power.
in my opinion the best four stroke for you is a kawi 250f.
plus i love kawi's
