I would consider myself an extreme newbie to all motorcycles and did research to find out what kind of bike suited me. I wanted a commuter bike and one that I could hit the trails on the farm with. I needed versatility. I did my research and bought a dual sport and think I made a good decisison. I did some looking locally but ended up buying my first bike on ebay. I thought I had purchased a Suzuki 125cc bike but when I went to pick it up I noticed the engine was a Hyosung (Korean). Have these korean made bikes been around for a while or are they new to the dirt world? I know that Japanese made bikes are very common. Is there a need to worry about reliability? I bought it for 900 bucks. Everything seems to run okay except the carb might have some gunk in it. It has low miles just over a 1,100. I've noticed there are newer models of this bike, but when looking to compare prices I couldn't find this year or model bike anywhere else in the used market. A little insight on Hyosung made dirt bikes please. Thanks!! B

I have never heard of Hyosung dirtbikes. I have seen their streetbikes. I would guess parts are hard to find, but not sure. Check bikebandit.com for OEM parts. For future purchases I would find a Japanese made bike because parts are usually easy to find and they are tried and true on reliability. You may have saved a little now but in the long run it may come back to haunt you.

Unlike pdk I have heard of Hyosung dirtbikes, and from what I have heard they are pretty crap. And it is best to stay away from them. If I were you, I would sell the one you got, and buy a known make, ie. Yamaha, KTM or Suzuki.

What are some of bad things you've heard. JW, so I know what I'm in for. I'm stuck with this bike for a little while. Will try to sell in a few months but I need something easy to learn on. I just don't wanna spend any more money on this bike, but still want to learn how to ride. If I spend all my time working on it, no time for fun if you know what I mean.

Is it Korean or Chinese? The cheap chinease copys you see all seem to change names daily. Biggest complaint is low quality, and lack of available parts and service if (likely when) you have an issue. Dealer support is "0".
I did find a web site: http://www.hyosungmotorsusa.com/product/introduction.asp?Cat=StreetBike&model=GT250

The Honda dealership in W-S is selling Hyosung's. Atleast there not selling Yamahas.
