First of all what is this hole? I have wondered what it is for some time now, and it doesn't say what it is in my manual. But also, exhaust smoke has started coming out of here???




And secondly, it may be a jetting issue. But why is the front of my pipe covered in oil, all of a sudden.


Any thoughts guys?

Im pretty sure that hole has something to do with the powervalve but I dont know for sure, my yz had one to and it would blow exhaust sometimes

I agree w/ DCM. I would say you need to clean your powervalve.

Cleaning powervalve simple enough for me to do? Ive got the manual.

What about the oily pipe? Jetting?

I think that is a result of the powervalve issue.

So is it easy to clean my powervalve?

Yeah take cylinder off, pop the plate of the front. I used brake cleaner cause it leaves no residue, clean, scrub and wipe down, put back togther

You may be able to do it with out pulling the jug, my yamaha you cant but I dont know on your bike. Have fun

Thats what I was thinking, you may just have to pull the pipe off.

Ok, I've looked right through my manual. And it doesn't say how to clean my powervalve, or even where it is. DCM was a bit unsure, does anyone else know? I've never done powervalves before. Help. LOL!

Your going to want that pipe off any way. And clean the pipe because where it meets the head is going to be caked because the valve is right there and blowing oil in it.
Clean well and replace the O rings. And make shure you seat them right. They can go in beckward.
