I have a 2004 CRF250R and for some reason will not idle! Right when it starts up I have to continuously give gas or it dies. Ive tried messing with the idle screw but that does nothing for it. The carburetor is clean and the so is the fuel. I checked the fuel petcock and its fine. Any ideas????

No it just started. I checked the valves yesterday and they are a little off but not enough to make it have this problem.

About 15 hours ago. And no major temp changes. Could it maybe be something in the carburetor?

it could be your gas. their may be dirt or something in the carb. dirty air filter.

normally if it was a jetting problem you will constantly have problems at certain times of the year or around a certain temperature.

that is why i was thinking it was something mechanicle. have you just tried to adjust the fuel screw, air screw, or idle screw.

No i havnt tried the fuel screw and air screw yet. But I recently pulled my carburetor apart and found that 2 of the vent hoses were completely stuffed with mud and dirt. I cleaned them out and put them back on. Would that have made it so my carburetor performing better and needs more fuel?

idk. they might, they are probably just overflow tubes, so i dont know if it would make a difference if they are clogged.

How about the accelerator pump. I noticed theres a spring loaded screw thats adjustable for the amount the throttle is open. Would this affect the idle?
