it all happened because my little 9 year old decided to take my kx 100 into the woods. (bad idea) after 2 and a half hours i took my friends rm 125 to go look for him. i found him bawling saying that he tried forever to make it through but he was stuck in a mud pit and couldn't get out because the bike was too big for him. since it was right next to the dirt road i told him to follow me right up the road. as i turned right onto my driveway i noticed blue lights behind me (OH ***  when i pulled over. i knew right away that he was pissed because i didn't see him or hear the sirens because the bike i was riding is far too loud. he told me to park the bike and get in the car. at this time my heart was pumping because i knew my dad was goin to be pissed. i'm 15 btw. we get up there and i had a bunch of buddies over and they were all scared. you wanna guess how much he charged me??? Let's just say that i am now 300 bucks in the hole! i was only on the road for a stretch of 100'!!! i just wanted to hear your opinion and any of your stories that relate to this.

I know exactly how you feel. I've had that heart pumping feeling as I too have been placed in the back of a cop car for dirt biking. (with permission) but not just written and had nearby houses complain since I also ride a 2 stroke and it was too loud for the woods/neighboring house area I did it TWICE and ended up totally never riding there again this season. Sucks because it was the best trails ever, and the 4 stroke riders I know never get caught since they have quieter bikes. Got off easy though both times and boy am I damn lucky. As for you being 15 though and not knowing....I don't find that 100% fair to charge you 300.00 for riding 100 foot stretch once. If it was a repeated offense I would understand.  I am sorry to hear this, but I can relate to you. It sucks big time.

Gotta learn how to out run 'em!  hahaha...just kidding, that's not a good idea.  sorry you got caught, that's a bummer...it could have been more expensive though....so at least it wasn't.

my brother once got taken to the local police station in Big Bear when he crossed the road....he was on a trail and wanted to get to the other side, so he just dashed across....someone saw him and chased him down.  bummer.

I've never gotten caught...had some rangers try and stop me once, they flag you down and have their car in the way...just waved back like i thought they were saying hi and went around....probably not the best idea, but i didn't have the cash to pay a ticket at the time! hahaha.

i highly doubt that it was for 100 feet. in most states your allowed like 300 yards to get from one trail to another. butttttt.. you cant be going at like 80 mph. as for him giveing you a tciket. if you werent going fast, then no i believe it to be unfair!. i've gotten crap for rideing from the cops but luckily where i live noone cares. and neither do the cops really. we get warnings but thats about it. the gme wardens though..... ~pat

i must have one of those faces that people forget, cuz the sherrif in the town where my cabin is has told me to stay on trails like 3 times now(which i do now), but i think he just does it so he can feel like hes doing his job

I was riding on some road and some idiot in his truck pulled me over started yelling and swearing at me, so me and my friends started our bikes, gave him the finger, and peeled outta there. he started chasing us down some logging road, but of course he didnt catch us. Probably not the best thing to do. that was like when i was 12 or 13 to

well i was pulled over once on the road just doing like 5 mph on my stock quiet quad to the trails. i saw the cop coming infrotn of me. where i was heading the road was blocked with barricades cause the bridge floods. i could of turned around and he could get me but i stoped anyways. he said "you boys where pushing those right" i replied yes officer and he simply said dont let me see you riding them on the road. stay on the trails. and other times in the town over the take the cruiser and the harleys into the sand pit and we just ride away. im thinking now im just ganna out run them tho.

I got chased by the cops this summer. I was riding at a gravel pit about a 5 min ride from my house. The pit is right on the edge of the nearest town called Paris, pop. 12000. I was with my friend, Aidan, he had a quad and some other friends (calling them "car") in a car. So the car wanted to come and watch us ride and do hills in the pit so we found a way to open up the gate and get the car into the pit. Aidans quad has a bad battery and he can only start it when he gets a boost from a quad or something like that and he accidently shut it off. So a person in the car, Scott, gets out to open his hood to boost Aidans quad and just as Scott is doing this he says "ahhhh coppers" as soon as I heard that my adrenline was goin like mad, I looked back saw 1 cruisers, pressed the magic button, and I was gone. 4 people I was with including Aidan got $65 trespassing tickets while I got chased by 2 cruisers, I took trails and the 2 cruisers took the roads, with the roads being much quicker, I guess my adrenline was pumping so fast I rode like hell almost falling numerous times. Everytime I had to cross a road I was so nervous that a cop would be there waiting for me. One of my dumb*ss friends, Cody, gave the cops my name. Cody is a big big ***sy when it comes to cops and the cop said if they give him a fake name their charges will be more, no offence to him but he was to dumb to think "how is the cop going to know its a fake name?" anyway I was nervous as hell didnt ride for like a week and a half but now I ride there all the time.

Screw the popo, You let your 9 year old brother get on your KX100 to big for him, let him go into the woods ALONE, Then don't go looking for him for
2 1/2 hours???
If i were your father, That would be the end of your riding career for a LOOOOOOOOOONG time!
And that would be okay, because you would not want to sit down for that long!
