I went dirtbiking 50 miles + on my 2002 YZ 125 and still had some gas left. But i think it may depend on the terrain/if ur riding on a dirt road you would probably get better gas milage then if you were doing hardcore hill climbing. Also make sure you take some extra sparks plugs and a wrench or something to put them in. hope i helped a little. Have fun riding Thursday

i think you should be able to get about 50 miles in on one tank...i'm not entirely sure, but i know one on my friends was able to do a 44 mile ride on one tank, and he was saying it averages at 28 miles per gallon (we were worried he'd have to pack gas...us guys on the four strokes knew we'd be fine! haha)

obviously, it depends how you're riding it, if you're revving the engine a lot or running in too low of a gear, your mileage won't be as good.

however, you should be MORE than fine to do 19 miles if that's all you're planning on.

crazy to think, i can get just about 100 miles in on my 230 before i fill up! hahaha

It goes more by time.  If you will be hard on the gas a lot, like at an mx track, you can expect to get 45-50 min. out of the tank.  Plan on the same amount of time on long trails.  If you are going through tight trails at a slower pace you will get a little over an hour out of tank.  You can't really judge distance to gallons on dirt trails because some terrain will make you burn gas faster or just take longer to get though.

So is that just on a 125 or is that the same for all 2strokes? If not, what gets better gas mileage, a 125 or 250?

well, i geuss we will see. Most of the trails are looping. so well probly hit one, back to the car for a drink. so on and so on. I just know when im racing around the fields i get like an hour on a tank, but thats alot of full thortal straights.

Well 2-smokes require higher RPMs and mixed gas for operation/mixed gas burns dirtier and less efficiently, so basically yes 2-smokes aren't the greatest for gas, but they make it up in power lol

They get about the same.  125s have to work twice as hard to go the same distance at the same speed as a 250.  They will burn close to the same amount of gas.  Back in the early 90's Kawasaki riders on the national circuit found they had a problem finishing a full moto without running out of gas on the 125s but the 250s made it just fine.  They used the same frame and gas tank back then.  The 125s were working harder to travel the same didstance at similar speeds.

Oh I get it. So if you ride trails on a 125, bring gas!
