My buddy offered to sell me a (Looks to be late 80's model)kx 125 for $400, but it needs a new piston. I was wondering first if the piston would be available, and whether the bike is worth the effort to replace the piston.and if 400 is a fair price

After reading your other post....Don't touch it! Why would you? Get a nice used YZ 250.

Being late '80s parts "may" be somewhat hard to come by, plus it depends on what else you would find and what you would want to spend on it.

The 400 is mint. I bought it in 2005 and have taken excellent care of it, but sadly i cant ride it as much as id like to because im always on my dirtbikes.

the 400ex has such a sweet balancing point. the 05 especially! it can wheelie forever witht he right rider. i owuldn't do it. you got a couple rides as it is. and you could use the money for something else for one of the other bikes and or quadcycle. ~pat

you are right the quad wheelies so nice. its way easiar to hold a wheelie on it than with my dirtbikes. i cant even tell you how many times ive gone over on the crs.

lol i know right. had a friend with the samee exact wheeler. had nerf bars. some cam work and a ahhhh yoshimara t4 or something like that exhaust. the thing was sick. the stupidest thing hes evr done was getting rid of it he loved it. the thoughts of a crf450 curled him away though. the crf bit the dust and he was left with nothing. ~pat

I love the yoshimira exhausts. My buddy has one on his Suzuki z400 and its the nicest sounding bike in our area. You can hear it coming from miles away
