Well I am stuck I have narrowed my choices to the 2006 TT-R125 and the 2001 RM 250...
TT-R pluses- Fun to whip around,Quiet,Pass on to son, brand new motor, tight trail rides RM pluses- Fast,More my style, new topend, long distance rides, snapy!!!
TT-R minus- Gets old quick, limited to riding by house, slugish RM minus- LOUD,2001,not fun for riding around house
I have owned a variety of bikes in my life. I can ride anything. I dont really need another bike but I want one.Right now i have a 01 tt-r 125, 99 yz 250,84 kdx 80. I am geting a good deal on either of these bike i just dont know what one to choose. I will mostly be riding in the woods behind my house but also to my parents house 3mi away. If it matters I am 5'11" and 140lbs Thanks AK

well personally i think that you might be able to go about the same disstance on those bikes and when you fill up, the ttr just needs gas so you dont need to carry oil
that being said, the ttr is going to be extremely small compared to the RM.
if it was up to me, i would take the RM because of the power especially, and if you wanted to pass it on to your son, it would be really nice to have around. it seems like to have enough bikes for him to ride anyways, but it would work out that way.

There is no way that a ttr125 is even close to being comparable to the power of a RM250.
not even a 125 has the power that could be comparable to a 250

The TTR is just a light weak bike if you ask me. I don't see that it would be any fun at all for someone your size. My brother outgrew his TTR less than a year after he started riding and he was very young and small. The two bikes can't even be compared to each other.

I didn't mean gas wise as far a going long distances I meant that the tt-r would be maxed out in 5th doing 50mph and the rm would still have 1 or 2 gears left. The tt-r is fun riding in my yard

i'd go with the rm all the way. maple was being sarcastic im assuming lol. the ttr would get old quick and you allready have one. then again you allready got a 250 as well. but, i like 250 2 strokes. mroe versatile and powerful and fun, ocmpared to the 125 whihc is a good putting and beggining bike ~pat

Yeah a ttr125 and rm250 are kinda weird to compare because there is such a difference in their size and power. A ttr125 is a 4stroke isnt it?
