oil prices should be gov. controlled. but like you guys said before i have a big Bush and sucks big dick cheney have their hands covered in oil so that will never happen.

the govt should be left out of it. to much is allready governmentally controlled. why do people allways feel the need to mention bush and cheney? you reallize that they did little to get us into the situation. at the time of the declaration of war the democrats controlled hte congress. congress has to agree by a what 2/3s majority for us to go to war. bush just responded to the attacks. and as for this oil crap come on guys... jeeeeesus, if mobil or texaco came up to you tomorrow and said they would give you free gas if you did nothing but say that they are good people you'd do it. ~pat

because oil prices are outrageous. they obviously cant control themselves. i dont feel everything should be govt controlled but when the oil companies ask you to kiss their ass and you have no choice but to kiss their then what are you going to do? their is nothing you can do. you have to get work, so you can keep kissing their ass more. you do not know because you do not drive and you do not work. you can easily sit in your chair say o its not that bad but they do not affect you so you would not know.

bush is *** corrupt, the congress is *** corrupt. bush and cheney have a lot of ties into oil companies, the more the oil companies make, the more they make.

the country is so *** corrupt.  there are so much stuff that happened during 9/11 that they have not told us. how bout bin laden said that if another bush ever becomes president he will attack us, years ago he said this. and you know what another bush became president and we got attacked. i do not believe anything the news says because our govt is so corrupt that i just dont know if i can trust what they say.

I'd have to disagree, Pat.  They invaded Iraq, NOT to protect us from terrorism, but because 'well, they tried to kill my daddy'. Terrorists weren't in Iraq, they were in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.  Iraq was a target of opportunity.  This short-sighted administration destabilized the middle east with that single act of stupidity and set things in motion.  The cost of the war had a profound effect on our economy, resulting in a weakened dollar.  The weaker the dollar, the higher the price of oil.

Sure, Democrats went along with it - they aren't blameless - but they were also relying on the information coming out of the White House. False information. Fabricated evidence.  This administration WANTED that war, they just got more than they bargained for... but hey, at least Halliburton made a few billion $$, so it wasn't a total loss...

Bush didn't respond to the attacks.. he took cover.  And when he emerged, he attacked one of the least-likely countries to harbor terrorism, because he had a grudge to settle.

Sure I'd take free gas from Texaco or Mobil.. as long as I didn't have to throw my countrymen into financial distress to get it!

ehhhh. i have a hard time blaming him. but i know hes not totally clean. im republican though mcain all the way. but im gonna have to agree with you skip, partially, the iraq invasian. anyway, whats done is done we cant change that so now that we are there we are commited and we cannot leave this country a mess like we did with vietnam we gotta stick it out! and im going to back that up by saying im joining the service 100% no doubt about it. my dad was bt hes against me going for it. wants me to go to school instead. f it. and elko our govt. is not corrupt. not our president nor our congress. what we see is a lto different then what they are facing everyday so we cant make judgements based on what teh news says. bush has and had nothing to gain by being corrupt in the ways the news led us to believe. hes a smart nice man. he just maed some stupid ass mistakes and unfortunately it was in a position where mistakes are not forgiveable, there are no redos in presidency., what you say is written in titanium and covered in non stick teflon. but it only a matter of time before that teflon gets scraped away by the media and then the *** really gets fried on..~pat

the major newsgroups are govt controlled. and you can believe they are not corrupt, but i do believe they are. you may feel that if you were in a govt position that you wouldnt be corrupt but history shows that throught the govt is corrupt, its no different then what it was 10 years ago, 50 years ago, or 100 years ago, or 500 years ago. they have power and they know that, and they abuse it.

mccain and obama are very similar. i do not really care who gets elected. i cant vote yet. i wont be 18 till january. i am democratic but that doesnt mean that i would vote for obama for that reason. other countries hate us and i think obama can change how the think of us. if mccain was 4 or 8 years younger i think he would be a great president but i think he is a little bit too old and out of touch on some stuff. and i would rather obama be a few years older. the major difference with obama and mccain is that, obama wants to raise taxes by 3 percent and mccain wants to lower them by 10% but mccain also wants to have a strong military. you cant do both. obama isnt against haveing a strong military although people think he is, but he will keep a strong military just not spend as much as mccain would. but if i was old enough to vote i would have a very hard decision to make because i like both of them.

hte major news corps are not govt. controlled. i'd hate to see you in the 50's looking for commies lol. not evrything is a conspiracy elko. the govt is what it is and it performs as it was designed. there is a system of checks and balances and in order for the govt. to be corrupt the ENTIRE  govt would have to be corrupt. this is not true. ~pat

my view? i like mccain. hes old got experience and hes got palin to spruce it up now. obama is a really cool guy. seen him on the ellen show. but his plan for iraq is unrealistic. 4 years? yeah right. we'll be htere in some way for another 30~pat

pat. they lie. look what bush said he would do, how much of it did he really do. they all lie (maybe not all, but a lot) they do it to get elected. our past is our future. we our doomed to repeat the past. it has been shown many times. i think when you are in a higher grade and have a better understanding of our past you will understand exactly how corrupt our govt is.

no. your one person elko. on opinion. noone knows for sure. to do that you'd have to see into the intentions and minds of all of our officials. and thats quite impossible. i know what i believe. and you know what you believe but dont b.s. me about you knowing anything about corruption in the most looked up to and well built govt in the world. theres a reason we are on top of the world. like i said. there are corrupt officials but the govt itself is not corrupt. that would imply that us, the people are all corrupt. and it would imply that hte constitution is corrput. which it is not. they can only get away with so much elko. there are rules even they obey..~pat
