i thinking same results as last year. crf, kx-f, yz-f. rmz, sxf. yz-f has 3rd locked up. the toss up will be 1-2 and 4-5. did ktm make enough changes this year to move up? is honda suspension that much better? i cant say anything about the engine on either bike, well i did hear that the crf is a little smoother and the kawasaki has a more low end grunt kind of feel. but i wouldnt buy a bike because of results from a shootout. all the bikes are good and you cant lose with any. shootouts are like nitpicking and its all based off what the tester feels. most people will not feel a difference on any of these bikes unless you spent hours riding them back-to-back. and you people will feel different stuff while the bikes, that is why you will see different results on different shootouts. that is why you should test the bikes yourself before buying one.

Well, a riding buddy has the '09 CRF-450F; its a very nice bike! He had an '08 Suzuki RMZ-450F and he feels the Honda is much better.
It sure sounded good and he was riding very well on it (first outing with it).
He also has a '09 KX-450F on order (not in yet). He had it on order but when he saw the Honda he bought it. He is going to ride the KX and then keep which ever he likes best and sell the other.
Gee, tough choice to have to make

Honda. Unbiased just going by what I've read with the first impressions. KTM would rank much higher if they could improve their rear shock, and bring the cost down.

i think its a tossup between Honda and Kawasaki. because both of them have switched to fuel injection. if the bikes were still carbuerated i would say it would be Honda. But then again, Suzuki alrady has a year of fuel injection experience over their competition.

but suzuki has made almost no changes over last years model. it doesnt matter if they have experience if their not going to make chagnes.
and bill i agree about the ktm. they need to switch to a 5 speed tranny too and a linkage system. i think their is just too much different about their bikes. everything about them is different and i thik it makes it harder to rank them.

My buddy with the '08 RMZ-450F is very dissapointed in it. Its back at Suzuki again for more fixes.
Hope the '09's have those fixed. It kep shutting down on him (EFI). Almost caused a couple crashes.

Mmmmm, for what i've read Honda will be on top again this year, maybe followed by kawasaki. KTM improved its suspension so it may be third. Yamaha and suzuki didn't modified their bikes a lot so I guess they will be at the bottom.
My heart fires every cycle, so does my bike.

i dont think ktm will ever get higher then 4th unless they put a linkage system and a 5 speed tranny in it.
and plus the yzf is the most reliable and all around great bike at everything.
and bill they said that they fixed some of the problems with the rmz but it didnt get better performance.
also i meant to say earlier but i forgot. was that they all have experience with EFI. they have been using if for a few years now in the japanese natanals.
