Quick refresher... need to upgrade my kids bikes, and I saw this one for sale

cr125

It would be for my 15yr old  5'7" 130lbs.  Not for racing, more for trails, pits, and general mucking about.  I received great advice last time... looking for more!  Colour doesn't matter as much as overall condition and price.  Thanks guys.

I've reposted the link...

he's currently on a 90cc knockoff.  We started on those cheap bikes to see if we liked riding or not... we do, so now we're upgrading as he's completely outgrown it.  Physically and performance wise.

did you try looking at 230's? The 125 would be a big step up from a 90 knockoff. But it really comes down to how good/aggresive of a rider he is.

kind of a high price for an 01. i'd keep looking. there a lot of nice 125 2 strokes out there. But remember that the motorcross bikes take more tuning and patients to be good woods bikes and vise versa.

kind of expensive. looks nice but i dont think he took proper care of it. he says he put a new ring in last year and possible protech suspension sounds like he doesnt know much about the bike and never really took good care of the engine or suspension. it also says that it has a 250 silenser. why would you put a 250 silencer on it, that makes no sence.

I'd keep looking. That is a high price for that bike.

Thats a lot for an '01. For example my bike is the same exact model as you posted and it was only $1300. I would say keep looking, but a 125 would be a good choice. If you are riding trails just put a rear sprocket with more teeth on it and you'll be good to go for just about anything.

Edit:
Now that I see you are in BC I'm not too sure about the price being extremely high.

wow you have like no bikes in vancouver. this is all i could find for around the same price as the one you showed. i am a little sketchy on the one that you showed but these arent much better either. so you may want to go look at that bike and these 3.

I just found an '03 KX500 for $3400. That may be right up your alley ;P. How far away do you live from the states? Would it be worth it to take a trip down here to save a good bit of money?
