changing reeds

94 cr125, in my book it said not to disassemble the reed valve.replace the whole valve. i called around and they have part numbers for the reeds can some help me out hear. thanks

The reeds themselves are replaceable.  You do not reed to replace the whole cage.  Reeds are a common wear part, and the manufacturers expect you to replace them.

I've always stuck with stock reed pedals- seem to last way longer than aftermarket- just my 2 cents.

I'm with master. I stay with stock reeds.
And can you show a pic of this? The SIDE should not lift up.

i will have to take them out, give me a few mins for a pic


the ones that came out were single new ones r double ill take pics of old and new

Doh...You took apart your Power valve! Were sunk for shure now bill!

It's all good.  I took that pic when I was adjusting the centrifugal clutch on my powerband.

didnt get the pics sorry


i turned my choke idle down gust to c if it bottomed out 51 turns whats with that, what is the proper spec for that if there is one

No, take that one off and flip it around.  Most have a slight curve (to aid sealing).  It should lay flat.  If curved it likely just needs to be flipped around.

Are they Boysen Power Reeds?

I've used them but feel the stock ones (at least Yamaha) are actually better.

ya there Boysen Power Reeds. 1 week to get the stock ones. i fliped them around seal better now thanks
