Well I want to get my 01 YZ250F fixed, get a second job, and then sell my bike so I can get a fairly new KTM 250. I bought this d&mn bike thinkin it was an 04, and have learned so much since then.. So the bike is... well will be in good condition when I go to sell it, but how much do you guys think I'll get for it? I really want a 2 stroke so It'll be alot eaier (cheaper) for me to work on, but I wonder what year would be the best to get.

As long as they have some kick a$$ power then I'll consider a 125.

DG, how much time have you spent riding that 250f??
give it a chance, im sure you will find its got plenty of power.
even the older 250f's make as much or more peak power than a stock 125
with an easier to use powerband. the weight difference was a key for me.
spend some more time in the saddle, then tell us what you want. (more power, better turning, easier starting, lighter ETC)

I like the bike i've rode it plenty, but the damn top end blew up on me after less than 20 hours. I know that it was probably ready to blow before i got it, but I just want a 2 stroke for the sake that it is easier to fix. I'll probably keep my bike, but if something else goes wrong I'm dumpin it, but I love yamahas

bryton how much less agressive is a 200exc thatn a 250 sx? basicly if its ridden right can it hang with the 250 ? on tight trails (read cat & skidder trails)

Not much at all. Ive only ridden a 250sx once but I also have a kx250 and they are about the same when it comes to power. The 200exc doesnt have as much of a powerband, it builds power more gradually. It still does have a powerband, just not as fierce.

the 200 is like a 125 on roids with less powerband and more spread power. and the 300 is like a regular 250 but just calmed down a little.

so is the 300 just a 250 with a couple fly wheel weights or does it handle the trails significantly better Basicaly I dont like to climb as fast as you do with my brothers cr250.
