heading to the imperial sand dunes on saturday (buttercup, west of yuma az)
got an invite from my boss, all i need to bring is my bikes and fuel (couldnt refuse) Its been a couple of years since i was there and i have to admit the last time there i focused more on partying than on riding, but i really need a break from the daily stress and am looking forward to some dune surfing.  gonna start setting my bike up tomorrow and am shopping for a paddle for my sons kx60 (12" if anyone close has one PM me) hope to have some pics and hopefully vids to show you guys, my cameras suck but hopefully i'll have something worth posting. im really stoked, never ridden a 125 in the dunes but ive seen lots of them there, im sure it will be fine. ive got an 03 kx250 as a backup if the yz dies LOL??

anybody else going to buttercup next weekend??

I would take the KX and leave the YZ as the backup.  Dunes can really wear out a top end on smaller displacements.

I forgot to mention that I'm completely green with envy too.  You better bring back some pics of you riding those monster dunes.

both bikes will be there, if the 125 is having a hardtime i will park it (im more worried about the kx60)  and abuse my buddies kx250
drained the old fuel today and installed the paddle tire on the 125.

my stock (junk) chain is to short to keep the paddle from tearing off the roost guard, so i will have to buy a longer chain.

still need to richen the jetting a little and buy some race fuel to mix, as well as start prepping ryans (my 12yr old) kx60

i know right where that is....

please be careful.  i've seen lots of people get hurt, and know some people who have had family members killed by yahoos not paying attention when they are driving their trucks and sand rails...unfortunately, the bike looses every time in those confrontations...

have fun!  just be careful
