I could get a co-signer. But would the loan cover taxes and titleing and all that other stuff? Because if the loan covered all that I would still have money left in my bank to cover myself incase there was a reason I couldn't make the first few payments?

Sanders there is no way in hell I could afford to race proffessionally but how competitive my district is, its like the pros.

Getting a newer bike isn't necesary its just something I want to do. And plus I found an 05 cr125 for 1500. I emailed the guy and am waiting for his response so I can know why he is selling it so cheap. I was aiming for a 250 but I couldn't find any.

well, you ask the bank for how ever much you need.  if you are going for a $5000 car, ask for $6000 or something.  so getting enough to cover really isn't the issue.

loans though come with a minimum of like 5 years...usually 5,6,10,12,and,15 year loans...be sure you really want to be paying for an old car for 5 years or so...

I'm looking for around an 05 so holding onto a car for 5 years doesn't seem too bad. I could always pay off the loan if I got extra cash, right?

theoretically...some don't work that way...they lock you into a payment schedule to maximize interest. hahaha

Oops. I missed the part where you said you were already selling the 80. Is there any way you can sink a minimum amount of money into your 125 to make it look better? You have taken good care of it for so long. No sense on buying another used bike that might be a nightmare.

Yeah I know, but my hope is that if I can get that 05 cr125 and nothing internally is wrong then I could move up to a really knew bike with 400 dollars. I was thinking about buying it anyways and reselling it for over 2000 to make a nice buck off it.

Are you set on getting a CR or would you entertain the possibility of a YZ?

It doesn't really matter to me. The guy with the 05 cr125 emailed me back and said that it was recently rebuilt and it runs really good. He said he is selling it because he needs it gone asap because of school. So I sent him a couple more questions.

So far I have found a 05 cr125, 02 cr125, 03 kx125, and a 03 yz125. The yz looks the nicest but I haven't got an email back from him yet. I am just trying to find something newer that is cheaper.

The hardest part about you getting a loan right now is that you are young, jobless, and don't have credit built yet.

Even though your credit score is neutral right now, in the eyes of the bank or credit union, you have bad credit if you dont have any.

When it comes to getting a co-signer, your in an excellent position if you already have one because not to many people will co-sign on a loan with you as there name is on it too, and they are therefore responsible for the loan if you can't make the payments.

I would say your best bet would be to sell the 80 for as much as you can get. buy a car with that money just to get you through until you can get a job and get some credit established, or until you can provide a few pay stubs for the bank.

I know it sucks that you want to get a newer better looking bike for the upcoming season, and I don't mean to sound like a parent figure here by saying this, but I think you should make due with what you have right now so that you will be able to afford going to the track and doing something you love.

Besides, if you do end up taking my advice and getting a cheap car, or smaller truck for a grand or so, you can turn around and sell it once you get a job and use that money as a downpayment for a newer/nicer car or truck.

Thanks for the advice sweet.

What if I buy that 05 cr125 and either sell it and make like a grand off it or race it then sell it at the end of next summer and still make a grand off it?

I didn't really want to go the route of buying a crappy vehicle but if i end up having too then I guess I will just have to suck it up and deal with it.
