SO some might know of my tear down project. Originally intended to paint part of my fram but ya stuff happens, anyway, i ve so far take the plastics, subframe, pipe silencer, airbox the whole deal basically down to the motor. So i cleaned off the carb today in a bit of discovery about how much gas come out of a float bowl when u dont have rags lol. so i cleaned ll the grime off the carb with a tooth brush. i also have clean all over the motor where the pipe was and where my carb was. the pipe i cleaned i tried to take the slincer apart because i bet it needs a repack but i couldnt manage to get it apart lol. so i took some steel wool and made a circular desing with that to clean the outside up a bit. my other plans r to grease the linkage for the suspension and check out teh wheel bearings. i dont know how estatic my dad was about this whole thing but hey i know my bike pretty well now i wanna check out my clutch too because it never seems to get completely disengaged or do all bikes do this? and does anyone know how to get dents out of pipes?

well that my winter project so far i might post a video of it aswell this was jsut for peopel liek pat i told about this to trakc my progress and if someone could answer my question that would be great aswell

I've heard that you can fill them with water and set them in a big freezer or something of the sort to freeze the water so that when it expands, it hopefully pushes out the the dent.

I have never personally done this, I usually just replace the pipe if its a dent that bad.

It sounds like a good idea to clean everything up though.
And by the way, you might have to drill out the rivets in order to get to the packing and then use a rivet gun to put new ones back into the silencer when you have it repacked. its pretty easy and fairly inexpensive to do, and you bike will love you for it.

What color were you going to paint your frame?

well, the water in the pipe thing is tricky. because you have to take it out before the pipe blows apart. you also have to cap the ends. you can ussually have the dents pulled at a shop, or a car collison center sometimes, i've heard of them doing it too. they drill a hole in the pipe and pull the dent out. and then weld it shut. as for your cluch can you describe it a bit better? and no i can't get on aim

If there are no screws and just rivets on both ends I would replace the rivets with screws.

I used a flathead screw driver and a hammer to hit the shell off the core. The shell is made of weak aluminum so you have to be extremely careful.

Woods and Bill are always talking about heating up pivot bolts to get them off so that same idea might work here. If you heat it up the shell might be able to slide off easier.

I wouldn't get a rev pipe unless you are like Stewart on an mx track.

I'd go with the FMF fatty or PC patinum.
