Amen... it's a lame arguement.  It's all on the person twisting the throttle.

I've been pretty happy with it.  My only complaint was the bend in the bars where a little funky, and felt too wide.  I changed them out with the Protaper Windams along with the Protaper triple clamp and it made a pretty big difference.

hey secondstring, i know you do a lot of track riding and i was wondering if you mess around with different off set triple clamps. do they really make a difference if you aren't pro, or trying to become pro right now? is it really worth the money?

They can make a pretty big difference.  Most clamps will shorten the trail and have a steeper head angle for better turning, but you wouldn't want to do that will all the trails you ride.  It can make it a little squirly on fast straight aways.  I just put a Pro Taper upper clamp and left my head angle alone.  The PT clamp allows you to adjust your bars front and back.  I put mine all the way forward which is nice because it really gets your weight over the front of the bike.

i was just wondering. i have no intention of puting different off-set clamps on my bike. i like my bike just the way it is and i think what makes a person truely fast, is their riding ability and talent. im not worrying about having the best stuff because i am no where near pro at this time.

if any of you payed any attention to anything you would four stroke is better.  in the past four strokes were slow and sluggish.  but now there quicker, faster, have more power, and even though there a bit hevier you cant really tell.  my 450  mxc wweighs 250 compared to a two strokes 210.  but it has electric start which is awsome.  even though most people think its a desert bike with a huge tank i can keep up with the best of them on the track.  plus four strokes are low maintanance and you dont have to worry about foul plugs like you do on a two stroke.  just look at the supercross world.  almost all of the bikes in the 125 class are 4 stroke except for the two bikes in last.  i think either next year or the year after the 250 class will be the same.  my dads  friends work in the industry(honda, Pro circuite).  they've told use that there rumers going around that in 2007 they will stop the production of two strokes

If you paid any attention you would see that it's a pretty even playing field.  Don't kid yourself on 4 strokes having less maintence because that is a load of crap, and 40 pounds is a HUGE difference when your only talking 50hp at the most.  I never foul plugs because my bikes are jetted properly, and who cares anyway seeing that the top of the line plugs are a whole $10.  You talk about looking at the supercross world, but it's funny how there are only a few 4strokes racing in the THQ supercross series in the 250 class.  Everyone in the top 5 in points except for Windham raced a 250 2stroke.  But lets keep beating this dead horse.

thats guy probably never even rode a 2 stroke. all bikes have the same general maintence chain tension tire pressure but when ti comes to the motor. theres a couple things on a 2 stroke.  4 strokes have timing change. you have to make sure the valves are set up properly ever couple rides. oil change and replace filter. like honestly kid. and holy crap on 250  pounds. ONLY? i'd rather a 250 anyday. 2 stokres make a lot more power to weight ratio.

youyr post had nothing at all to do with the post that came before yours. you just started talking about how much better four strokes are. what the heck? i dont want to hear this topic. we have talked about it a million times before on this forum. and i think for the people here that have been here for a while, they dont want to hear it. if you want to talk about it, and beat it to death, talk about it on another site. or, you can read the 1 million posts on this site that you can look at that have already been posted.

and i hate it when people *** about fouling plugs and mixing gas on two strokes. it is a stupid excuse, and if that are the only reasons you have why four strokes are better than two, then you have a pretty weak argument.

just because they might stopo production of the two strokes, doesnt mean that they will all disappear. there will still be guys riding them. there will stil be parts on the shelves. people will have them as their secondary bikes. and some people will have them as their primary bikes.
40 pounds is a lot. when i ride my dads 500 compared to my 250, i can throw my bike all around copared to his. but his bike will climb a wall. the weight difference between my dads bike and my bike isnt even 40 pounds. so i would be scared to ride a bike that is 40 pounds heavier than mine.

im not big into the supercross and the other mx racing, so i will let secondstring, vouch for those of you who do support it. i dont pay attention to it really, so i dont have an argument.

the only four stroke i can stand are the 50's. everything else i ride are two strokes. im not saying that four strokes are worst things ever. i just hate it when people bring up the stupid topic of four stroke is better than the two stroke. i have my opinions on what bikes are better, and you have your opinions on which bikes are better. so no one is wrong and no one is right. it is all personal choice to either choose four stroke or two stroke.
