2002 KX 65 changes

First time on the board. I'm less than a rookie, so I appreciate any/all patience.
Just upgraded from a PW80 to KX 65. Good condition. I wasn't prepared for the sound change, and the neighbors are mad!
Previous owner had a Pro Circuit 304 on it, but the tip is missing. Also, a local repair guy said it was running too rich, and so it needed to be replaced to quiet it down some. Estimated 30% sound reduction by changing the silencer, another 20% by changing the pipe.
Its hard for me to tell if it is an OEM pipe or not. It's just sort of gray. It doesn't look like bare metal, like some pics on the Pro Circuit page, nor is it shiny like the FMFs look, so I suspect stock but can't be sure. It does has some sound warnings etched into it, but there aren't any stickers, logos, etc, scratched into the metal.
I'm OK with both suggested changes, but there are many options for parts to pick from. I could either go back to a stock silencer, or choose an FMF or PC Option. Also, I don't even know the difference between a silencer and a spark arrestor. Further, I guess some pipes do one thing, some do another - top end and low end. None of that performance is needed in my case, but if either offer some db reduction, I'd be glad to consider.
I don't really care about performance gains at this point. My son is 11, weighs 62 lbs, and really likes to ride on our 3 acres and occasionaly at a track/trail park when we can.
Reading about the ProCircuit nature friendly "sounds" good, but how do you know. Looked for an FMF Q, but not available on this size.
Any thoughts, tutorials, or other advice?
Thanks.

ff's what is that? i have a couple friends that run the PC silincer on there bikes. it is quite enough not to piss to many people off. less they took the inards out. they run the spark areestor silencer (thats how its labeled in motosport). or the fmf turbine core that is what my brother runs on his cr250 & he took the packing out & its still not really really loud. i hope this helps. any other questions? You wrote "i would go with the ffs approved pro circut for silencer."
I just didn't know what the ffs stood for.

Sanders your the one that said ff's. I think you meant FMF though.
Changing the pipe won't quiet it down. The stock pipe is black and I think it has some kind of warning stamped onto it. The stock silencer is just plain gray and I think it should have a sticker on it with maybe a warning.
Your pretty much screwed. They don't make any quieter silencer for your bike. So just stick with the stock pipe and silencer. Repack the silencer and see if it quiet downs after that.
A spark arrestor is just a screen that is on the end of the silencer so that it doesn't shoot flames out. Its pretty rare for a 2 stroke to shoot flames out so you don't need to worry its just a more precautionary thing if you ride in state forests or stuff like that.

look for a stock silencer on e-bay. the oe pipe was grey, almost like a powdercoat. no matter what the bike will be loud. its a race bike. when you find another silencer, repack it as tight as you can. it will help reduce the noise.
welcome to the forum.

The Kawasaki KX65 is tough to make as quiet as a PW80. FMF sells a spark arrestor that will help a little. I have had better luck using an FMF spark arrestor for a Kawasaki KX85. The 85 S/A has a longer muffler body, so it is quieter. If I remember, the 65 muffler has one mounting tab, and the 85 has two. I was able to make on hole line up, then I connected the other on to the frame with a flat metal brackey I made. That was the best option I have actually tried. An option that might mork is a Kawasaki KDX200 muffler. (Below)
49069 SKU: 49069-1101 MUFFLER-ASSY 1 $176.64 The 1999 to 2095 KDX 200 used an extremely small, light, super quiet muffler That could be modified to fit. The neighbors will love it. Look at other small two-stroke mufflers. Maybe you could make a PW80 muffler fit.

OK - Thanks for all the feedback.
I think I'm gonna go back to square one.
I'm looking for a stock KX65 silencer. I looked on eBay, and didn't see a lot of options.
Any suggestions on where to look?
