csully:
going up on the rear gives you more low end

going down gives you more top end

i left my back one stock at 50 and my front one i went up one to 14.  it definitely helps with top speed...if you go up to 15 on the front you're gunna add like 10mph

The bike will also rev a lot slower so it will take you forever to reach that extra 10 mph. IT will have less pull and less hit and less torque. If your coming out of a turn you will have to use speed and momentum because the bike will have less torque.

Yeah your right elko it did sound really bad. I know your very knowledgable about bikes. But I ahve seen no proof of the vavles thing on the mx four strokes. I know a lot of guys riding mx 4 stroke off road, and they don no more than just regualr valve checks on them. So please provide proof for your facts, cause right now its just your word also

Skip gave a reason on a thread why riding at slow speeds cause the valves to mushroom out. Something to do with how long they are in contact. I will try and find it.

Yep I never knew that until a while back when skip used to be on daily. Him and this crackhead kid that thought he could do a backflip on his yz450f got into a heated argument about valves and why they go bad. If I could find that thread I would show it to you. I didn't really understand what he was saying at the time so I don't really remember exactly the reasoning behind it.

I will have to admit a lot of stuff I know came from Skip, Woods, Dave, Bill, and Pop. Too bad none of them are on as much as they used to be, except for Woods. Skip needs to start coming back on again.

A lot of my knowledge came from hanging out wiht guys thta rode, and its the same thing here. Id love to find out why. I mean common knowledge says that any engine be treated nicley will lst longer than one getting revved out and constantly acclerating would. Maybe the sprig pressures to stiff and makes the valves mushroom at slow speeds. i gotta look into it now Im curious
