Ok, to keep things focused how about a list of current test bikes to choose (no point in picking something you don't have).
Then we pick from that a category (MX, Off-Road (such as GNCC), or trail). Is there a poll or vote function on the board software we can use?

You guys don't forget that you have a specific KTM board and a Specific Honda board in this thing. I guess that with it not being a "shootout" it doesn't matter, but why build a KTM when you know that we are gonna do one over at KTMtalk.com?? And the guys at CRFonly are gonna do a Honda??

Synergy Seals will donate a set of fork seals for what ever brand is chosen. We will also help pay labor cost to get'er done!
We think thi is one of the coolest write up issues a magazine could do. And of course its Dirt Rider!!!
Thank you for starting this cool event,

I think the bored out yamaha sounds like a real beast of bike. Add the usual aftermaket stuff, and alittle bit of fine tuning with the suspension and we'll have a monster of a bike.

we are getting way ahead of our selves. we need to apoint an undicided leader. just to make this go faster i will use part of my site for this to make a poll to decide on parts and accesories. just click on it below and join my club and vote. (its free. and when ever the bike is done you dont ever have to come back if you dont want to)
first ill start with the brand of bike and y'all can vote on wich you think is best. then go from there.
Jimmy, i dont think well have this done in time.
just if any one else is wondering, yes i did just apoint myself the leader of this project. lol. (someone had to)
go to my site and vote now!

If you want my opinion I think we should build a 144 or something. Since the bikes aren't going to be compared directly against each other it really doesn't matter what the displacement is. Since no magazine has done a review of a 144 I think that would be the way to go. I definetely think we should stick to a two stroke simply because most other sites will be modding a 450 or something. Here's another cool idea... why don't we take a retro bike like a 1970s or something and use the modern technology that we have today to rework the suspension and engine???

It will help if Jimmy or Jean can get us the available test bikes to choose.

My vote is for a 2006 Husaberg Fe550. Out of the crate they are an awesome bike. There are a decent amount of aftermarket parts available these days and it will pretty much decimate all other bikes in a drag race. Not to mention that it is much lighter than the current crop of off-road bikes out there. Handling is considered to be very good if not the best. I think its time to give the European bikes the respect that they have earned.
