Don't worry about limitations on our behalf. You guys come up with the idea, and we'll come up with the bike. If it's too outlandish for us to produce, we'll let you know. But for now, get creative, have fun with this and like Jimmy said, make us proud!

Then I think we should make a Yamaha with the big bore kit? Ant make it a kick ass trail bike as well as a decent MXer?

I dont like the 150F idea becuase I think we should do a full size bike. I think the requirements that Jimmy wrote should have just been full size bikes only because it isnt a fair playing feild if we include pit bikes. Its like comparing apples and pumpkins.

It says that my membership is pending approval or something. And where is the poll? I cant find it. I think we should just use the DR boards so we dont get people confused.

Guys,

I'm the leader here though I appreciate the effort Pumpkin.

Stay focused here, We need to know two things really quick.

What Brand?

What type of bike? i.e trail, MX, enduro, off-road race?

By Tuesday these 2 questions will need to be decided. Then we will move on to other stuff. We can't get too carried away (wild with the bike we build) due to the time line. I'm giving this board 2 weeks to hash out the bike, one week to get the bike, order up all the stuff, one week to build it. That puts just under the time line.

Again, it is your voice that makes the decisions, I'm just going to go with whatever seems the majority and move on. No, our board isn't the most up to date software and we don't have polls, maybe we can use this as an example to get some upgrades, but I'm sure thay are coming soon anyways.

Be nice, follow the suggestions so this thing works!

Since I own a CRF450X I would like to see just how good of a trail bike it could be.

Honda CRF450X has my vote.

Well, I think there are a lot of people (like me) who use their bikes for multiple purposes.  I like the idea of the big bore YZ (or KX, RM etc; not hung up on Yamaha) and the theme would be a bike thats capable of MX and general off-road use.

The motor speaks for itself; if setup for low and mid range it should work on off-road and MX.

Suspension.  A good revalve with a compromise between pure MX and Off-Road

Add a carbon fiber skid plate (light and protect the engine/frame in off-road and MX when cased).

Larger capacity fuel tank (IMS, Clarke or?) Not huge so that its a hinderance on MX use but larger to make bike more useful for off-road.

Lights?  Depends on where bike would be used.  If so, perhaps a quick dissconnect unit?

Flywheel weight.  Again, to aid in off-road, but not too heavy that it hurts on the track.

FMF Q or similar silencer with spark arrestor (keep neighbors happy, legal to use at most public riding areas)

Sunline or equivalent clutch pearch (so lever isn't easily broken or bent in off-road or track use)

Likely a tire upgrade depending on what we start with and what comes on it.

Thats my initial thoughts on it.

Why dont we get a 250f frame and put a CR500 Service Honda engine in tit with a bunch of aftermarket parts that would be cool !

Additional thought...

wide foot pegs (they are more comfortable on hard hits...)

I suggest that a TM 450 enduro (with estart removed) be used.  Take the time to dial it in.  This bike rated very well in the Master Enduro Test put on by 8 magazines (euro and aussie in 2005).  It may not represent US buyers or support the aftermarket industry, but it is cool.
