how do i check my oil now?

hello i have a kx250 an i just got a after market clutch cover for it and it doesent have an eye glass on it! and i was wondering if aney one else knows howto check the oil when thers no eye glass? also it has a screw in it right in the same place the eye glass is on the stoak cover. i was wondering what that was for .. or if it was for checking the oil thanks

yes its a 2 stroke and i think that nut has something to do with it im not sure what thow and the bike is a 2006

Check ur oil the way i do. ride ur bike. change ur oil. done. That way u always know how much is in there. And it is always fresh. Its only a quart u know.

well sure i would do that if i was made of money but im not so i need to know how to check my oil.... if your goin to be a smart ass about it then dont write aneything thank you

He's just speaking the truth. You are supposed to change your oil every 4 rides anyway, so if you put in the recommended amount and your bike does not leak oil, than you know your good.

loosen the nut, if oil runs out, your golden.

Ok, ride the bike, while the bike is still warm drain the oil, take off that screw and start filling up the bike with oil, whenever you start to get a small stream coming out then stop filling it up and put that screw back on and your golden. IF you do this every 3-5 rides then you will never have to worry about it. If your using a cheap automotive oil then I would change it more frequently.

as elko said. you wanna make sure you are straight up and down and not leaned against anything. if you over fill it, either it can come out of the over flow, or.. if it is to much you can do some bad things to the engine.
