http://www.norcalmotocross.com might have some info, or at least a way for you to get some contact information on clubs in the link section. Less is more, live poor, die pure.

As far as bike requirements a head and tail light is a good idea as well as having your bike titled, some clubs require you to be fairly street worthy. another thing that isent mandatory but makes life a tid bit more easy is a computer system like Trail Tech or Watch Dog. a must is a role chart. if you do not know what these are look them up in a parts catologe like Rockey Mountain MC or some other. As Far as determining if this type of racing is for you go and watch one. there are always clubs that hold them. if you dont mind my asking in what state do you live? I also have to say i am very glad to hear of some one wanting to take part in the oldest form of american racing.

how much do the computer systems cost? and i do know what a roll chart is. to answer your question i live in the state of California wich is very over polluted and is screwed over by the government. also this is the state where the newer houses are bigger than the lots they are built on so thier drive ways are the street. and when you step out of the house to walk into the back yard you run into the back fence. that is pretty much a description of sacramento and other parts of the state. thats why i live just out of the city of elk grove in a town called wilton which is not over populated like many other cities in the wonderful state i live in. wilton is more country than rural. my uncle use to race enduros when he was younger and i haven't talked to him soon, but i guess i can just ask him about it. my dad didnt really race enduros, but he did race a ton of hare scrambles. oh ya, and this wonderful state of Cali, i bet you they would try to pass a law if they could to make us ride hybrid dirt bikes. and all of the people who are environmentalists think we are harming the national forests by riding in them. and every year the rangers hardly even take care of the trails now a days, and every year, the trails keep getting more and mroe over grown. so pretty much at the beginning of each year you have to clear a lot of the trails you would like to ride on because it seems like th rangers never keep up the trails at all. but yes, i like in california.

I hear you on the whole green thing, in new hampshire we have some crazy wacko's that are more than willing to shut down the whole state to dirt bikers. Oh ya but its okey to ride a snowmobile or some types of atvs on the same trails go figure. A computer system like the trail tech will cost you around 80 clams.
