Well, keep in mind a YZ250 is competing with a YZ450F and a YZ250F would be competing with a YZ125.

The YZ250 and YZ250F are very different.  The YZ250F is about 34 HP and the YZ250 is 46 HP.

What type of riding do you plan to do and what is your exerience?

it depends he are some questions you want to ask yourself am i wanting to ride in the 250 class or 125 class am i wanting to mix gas am i already riding a two stroke its kinda hard gettin use to the throttle but on a four stroke the power is always there but the two stroke is faster. am i wanting to do freestyle then def two stroke.am i wanting to change spark plugs every time i ride if not four stroke its tough i struggled with the same thing and now i have a two strke iam selling four a four stroke

theres a lot of things you have to consider before you go out and buy whichever bike you choose. Like what riding do you do? If you ride/race on a MX track, then go with the yz250f because if you want to suceed in motocross then you need a 4 stroke. But if you ride out in the desert or trails, a 2 stroke would be better because they are lighter and require less aftermarket parts to make off road capable. Also, how thick is your wallet? I think a 250f is a little more pricey than a 250 2 stroke but im not 100% sure. But what I do know is that if you get any 250f, staying on top of maintenance is a necessity unless you want to pay $3000+ for an engine rebuild. And the parts in 250fs wear quicker than 250 2 strokes, which requires more frequent maintenance. So it all depends on your riding and budget. Also ask your dealer they always give great advice.

What kinda experience do you have? There is a BIG difference between the two bikes. YZ250 is an awesome bike if you have the ability to handle the power!

Need more info. I ride a 06 YZ250. But its not for every one. The 250f is a nice bike as well, But with less power, But easy to handle. Like i said it would help if you gave more info.
