I just got this new camera (TachyonXC) and figured out how to mount it to my helmet to take video, but now I need your help! I am a computer dunce and don't know how to upload my videos into my Windows Media Player or how to go from there to U-TUBE, or even to this forum. Please go easy on me guys...I'll edit this post with summary as we progress... 1. I set up a youtube account, because photobucket won't handle the file size of a decent video. 2. It may not be necessary for you, but I bought an external hard drive with 800GB storage. I didn't have enough room on my computer system to support videos in addition to all my other stuff. 3. Downloaded Windows Movie Maker2, and practiced editing a video. 4. Got frustrated with WMM2 and bought a new computer, a MacPro laptop with plenty of space (250gb) to put in movies and stuff, using IMovie.

OK lets start at the begining and walk you thru. Do you have a youtube or photobucket account setup yet? If not, do that then come back and we'll continue.

Most of the time if you connect a devise to a computer it will automatically bring up a transfer window (most digial cameras do this) If not the attach it to your computer, click start menu click on my computer and then the removable disk the its attached too. Save it to your computer. Then you should be able to download it to PB or youtube.

my son downloads it to Iphoto then to Imovie where I can edit out 90percent of it and make a good clip. On a pc you can use windows movie to edit i think.

Thanks rocky, okay, I plugged the camera into the computer, the transfer window you mention came up and it gave the option of going into the Windows Media Player, so I clicked that. I was able to watch my video on there, but I have no idea how to navigate through the player, so I just left there and went to photobucket, where I initiated a download from my computer. When it came time to browse through for the file, I could not locate my video anywhere. I don't understand anything about a "removable disk", or how to save a video to my computer. By the way, you did a really cool video yourself, and I've been wondering what you used, and how you did it...

Arizona? You have me mixed up with someone else.
On photobucket you can upload a maximum of 5 minutes of video or 100 mb. Do you know the size of the video?

yeah, it was 230 that went down there I think, sorry. Anyway, it is a short little walk around the house, less than one minute long. Don't know how to find "mb" info, whatever that is...

the tachyon manual recommends youtube for better quality videos, is this true? Or will photobucket be just as good?

You are going to need youtube later anyway if you are going to post a riding vid.
