you should have an option to save it to a different file no? also different types of files. i know when i connect my camera to my computer via the usb, a window pops up asking me what i want to do. one of the options is save/copy files to computer. i can then pick which file i want it saved on

No option to save it is given...just to view it in Media Player, or see the file

do you have any movie maker programs? you might be lacking an editor or something that the comp requires. what type of camera are you using and do you have windows or mac?

You're on to something here Pat. My computer is lacking a few things because I deleted a bunch of stuff I thought was irrelevant a while back...kinda like yanking out a bundh of wires from your trucks dashboard with the same logic...It is a tachyonXC camera, and I have windows...but I am due to take this thing in and get a brand new hard drive and external hard drive, long story short I picked up a virus over a month ago and it destroyed so much of my old files. I am on a temporary operating status as we type.

ahhhh, well that there might be your problem. with temp. there it might not have the space to load a full video. they take up a lot, i meant A LOT of space on your drive. and yeah, it can take a long time to upload to youtube. shouldn't be over 20 25 minutes though. depending on the length and the resolution and whether or not youtube has to resize it a bit. is it still loading?

RidingTheRockies: Most of the time if you connect a devise to a computer it will automatically bring up a transfer window (most digial cameras do this) If not the attach it to your computer, click start menu click on my computer and then the removable disk the its attached too. Save it to your computer. Then you should be able to download it to PB or youtube.
PaulB14: Well I managed to download the video to youtube while the camera is stilled attached to the computer, but I still can't save it to the computer for later viewing or access. How might I do this?
Paul, when you connect the camera to your computer and if bring up f drive click on it it should show you what files you have on the camera memory. highlight the file and them click on the file tab up in your browser (or right click should give you the save as option as well). From there click save as and then select a location to save it onto your computer. If I were you I'd go into your phot file and make a new folder, then when you are finding a location to save it to click photos and then click on the new file and save in there.

yes still loading...I am debating whether to switch to a Mac instead of this Dell. It will cost me $180.00 to rebuild this with a new hard drive and add the external drive for my pictures and stuff (now videos hopefully)...

How many minutes is the vid? Not file size but minutes.
What you really need to be able to do is load them onto your computer then edit you vids to what you want to show everyone then save it to youtube. Then it won't have to load so mush there only a few minute of vid instead of what your loading there now.

The video is only about 3 minutes long. Yes! I want to do just that! Edit them before going to youtube. How can I do this? And since I am getting a brand new computer, any recommendation for software?

You are best off just minimizing the upload page and forgetting about it right now. You read on youtube that some uploads can take many hours depending on size and the load on their server at the time.
