the new macs can boot up as a windows machine too... you can switch back and forth for whatever application you need. Mac's are good for all the data management stuff too it's just all the people who work in "media arts" jumped on the macs first.  I work in audio, and peecees have only just caught up to mac's for audio applications, and some would still say they haven't caught up at all!

okay then, line me up with something you would do if you were in my shoes.  You want to create video presentations that can be used to entertain strangers on a strange forum of dirt bike riders...and one other consideration.  I'm an old school designer/architect, still use the old drawing board with slide rule, templates, pencils and eraser.  I've purchased 3 different design programs for my pc over the years but haven't made them work for me.  Even though I haven't succeeded yet, I'm still willing to try.  I would like the speed and mobility that drawing plans on a computer can give me.  Does the MAC have this capability?

I haven't had in on the trail with the bike yet.  With all the snow here I'm crippled.  But I ran around the house with it strapped to my head (!), chasing the dogs and tripping through the snow.  It picked up the dogs barking in audio, even with the back door closed.  (The back door seals it for underwater use).  I won't be able to try it out on the trail until I get down to the desert in March.  (Only two months away!)  I bought the upgrade memory card so I can video up to 1.5 hours at high resolution, longer at lower settings.

How much did it cost, including the memory card?

Paul, I was looking at the helmet cams online yesterday and the one you go how big is it? Does it seem to bulky? I want to get one (to share my pathetic riding abilities) And want something slim, the lip stick cams are ideal but require a recoding device be hooked up to them. I want an all in one model but want it as slim a possible?

I have a helmet cam (www.helmetcam.com).  I don't know how yours is set up, but mine is a cylidrical camera inside a housing.  It's held there by a set screw.  If yours is the same, make sure the arrow is pointing straight up after you tighten the set screw or your video will come out at whatever angle the camera is at inside the housing.

I got some great footage last time out, but the camera was off just enough to make me seasick when I watched it.

This one is 1 1/4" wide, by 2 3/4" long, by 1 1/2" high.  It comes with several mounting options, including velcro pads, elastic straps (2), hand strap, and the solid mounting bracket that the various straps attach to.  It can also be mounted directly to the handlebar (though it might prove to be too shakey).  I am going to try both ways.  I bought this brand because it is specifically made for extreme sports conditions.  Waterproof (for the rain) and dust proof.  I also like the remote control so I can switch it on without stopping my bike or taking my helmet off.

My brother in law has a peecee and designed his addition for his house on it... I'm trying to remember what the application was called... maybe it will come to me by the time I finish typing.  There is a quick app for Mac called sketchup.. http://sketchup.google.com/ that is used on Mac's... I'm not sure if it works on peecees too, but as it's from google I'm sure it does.

Imovie is simple and easy.  I made movies with dissolves and title cards and burnt to a dvd without reading any instructions.  You can get Final Cut Pro for a Mac which is an in depth video editing program that professionals use, and it's not that expensive.  Well it's way more expensive than Imovie, but ridiculously cheap when compared with other professional video editing software/hardware.

I just remembered the program is called autocad... but that was a couple of years ago.

Hope that helps Paul.
