Hi, I am just wondering about what safety equiptment you think is neccesary for riding.  I do mostly trail riding with small jumps.  I have gloves a helmet, goggles, a chest protecter, and thats about it.  Do you have any suggestions as to what else I might need.  Safety is big in my mind when I ride.  I am to chicken to do stuff unless I know I am pretty safe anyhow.  Please tell me what else I need.

Get a really good pair of MX Boots. There are a ton of them out there on the market. Make sure you get a good quality boot that offers good protection.

A set of bark busters or roost guards for your bike will save your hands from the ocassional branch or small rock that might hurl it's self into your fingers.

Knee / shin guards are another thing to think about.

Have fun out there!

Moto Boots... do not skimp on these... or try to substitute work boots, I can not telll you how many injuries I have been saved from by moto boots... ( I actually got atv soles on mine, so when pushing a bike through the wooods or bulldogging I get a little more grip) umm yeah goon has a good idea with the bark busters and handguards, other than that... if you start jumping alot you might look into a race collar or maybe knee braces

I ride nothing but woods, And can tell you first hand that You NEED BOOTS, Or its just a matter of time before you break your foot, Toes, Ankle. Or *** Then i would get a pair of knee braces, BEFORE you tair up your knees like i did. Then make shure you put a skid plate on your bike. As far as boots, Thor Quadrent are rated the best low end boot out at only 130.00, I use them myself and there great. Easy to shift with, Comfy, Durable, And they even look cool. And hand guards are a must. I cant tell you how many times i'v busted up my knuckels from trees. And bring a cell phone!Slide it down the INSIDE of you pant leg into your boot. That way if you crash hard you dont land on it. And you cant loose it. Also make shure you ALWAYS bring a CASH of water and gas that you can put on the trail. HIDE IT behind a log or somthing. And make shure you are always curtious to other people on the trail. On bikes or off.  Sorry about the extended awnser . Hope it helps.

all gear is super important. getting a pair of boots is a good idea, not only because of foregin objects/riders slamming into you while your riding, but also what if your chain breaks and snaps you in the leg? or if you touch your motor and its hot enough to burn through your pants? especially for trails, where your riding close to rocks, bushes, etc.

also, a pair of pants is a good idea, but jeans or other thick long pants should work too. knee guards are a good investment also.
