ODE TO THE BOARD
Down with the flu, or pneumonia I guessed  
I came to DR, woohoo, seeking some rest
To reminisce, or relive my past
of dirt bike bliss, what a blast!  
Wrote a few tales, shared some tricks
met mostly males, and a few chicks  
Started out a newbie, now an enthusiast
as a guru maybe, or addict I'll make that list
And join the ranks, with much pride and joy
of true blue(yz)yanks, canadians and an english boy
Kiwi hails from New Zealand, with his short shorts
in the mud, loam or deep sand, his Honda really snorts  
Don't forget Pattilac, with his ATK
gotta give him some slack, 'cause that bikes okay
But keep your Hondas and Yamis, Kawas Suzooks all of 'em
because they're all just swamis, next to my KTM  
It has to count, 'cause Bill's got a Honda
that his other mount, is a snowmobile he's fond 'a
Tracks are fun, woods and dunes are as well
but give me the sun, and a long desert trail  
My friends call me "Quazy", for riding the "Moto"
but they're just too lazy, so I send them a photo
There's David in Oregon, who is spelling impaired
but he's no fools son, I doubt with his chainsaw he's ever been scared  
And Courtney in SoCal, with her riding famil-ee
she rides with them all, footloose and fancy free
The newlywed marine, in Japan DC serves abroad
modding his machine, into a 2stroke hot rod  
A Honda man, Dag in Temecula will ride
he loads his van, bike goes through the side  
There's something very rad, 'bout a canadian in BC
calls himself Spiderdad, raising kids on a dirtbike knee  
Socalimom's a spitfire, short and tough I think
yet unless I'm a liar, she'd rather her yz were pink
Out on the farm, whoever heard of a "Chud"?
but he'll bring you no harm, 'cause he's stuck in the mud
Did you hear the one, about the canadian and your mom
I'm sure it's all in fun, but it just leaves me numb
Mjp58 and hellamic, with RMTom in Arizona will ride
their mounts are so "sick", post those pictures with pride  
There's a jersey post, all eyes are glued
it appears, then its lost, please hurry it up, Joe rides in the nude!  
Into the air, yzrider2 flies
when the weather is fair, you'll sail the blue skies  
Screaming his little 80, with no mercies
is the guy in ill-i-noee, get a 125 puuullleeeese
What of 230, and 250 in the hat
you need to get dirty, and that's that!
But don't forget it, you'd better get gear
or you'll regret it, when you've scraped your rear
Speaking of "Durty", a gurl with woowoo!
she's kinda purty, even with the tattoo
When "Ridin'theRockies" says, bring three pairs of socks
you'd better pay heed because, one for the water, two for the rocks
but he'll warn you ahead, when you come to the boulder
that makes him red, and injured his shoulder
Poor Jon and spidey the six5's, hanging with the birds of the air
no girlfriends or wives, to muss with their hair
Smasher is new to dirtbikes, who rides every chance he gets
all the hills and trails he likes, there will be no regrets
lots of deep water, mud and jumps galore,
he'll see you much later, and want to go out for more
Watch out for it, the random elk post
he's a good fit, when you need him the most
but watch that bloke, with his new ride
he traded his 2-stroke, for the dark side
I mean no ill Will, should I omit someone here
so take your chill pill, and to post have no fear
But I learned first hand, better now than later
type the wrong command, and face the moderator
Ready for a fight, Will's a true sport
he is always right, just ask the Court
Going for throttle he got a bog, was Aaron on his KX250
encountered the mean mean log, and took a blow to the knee,
And there's voodoublue, with his Yamaha so regal
he and friends really flew, on lands deemed illegal  
Look out for the sheen, put your glasses on
Wood's bike is clean, but does he ever get on?  
Of course he does, on those trails with the rest
he goes and goes,  keeping pace with the best  
Mike you're like myself, with my slouch and my gut
but words are on the shelf, when the knobs meet the rut
Hurry up with the schoolin', with those long commutes
It's bikes you should be rulin', instead of computes
Along comes Alex Monteer, with his smiley faces
who loves to cheer, when we enter our races
He'll ride every track jump and turn, on JLaw's old steed,
to be a pro rider his heart will burn, and fill his need
Now we all ride for pleasure, this much I know
so no need to measure, just gear up and go!
I know this is long, and I'm guilty of ramblin'
but is it so wrong, Mr. DLHamblin'?


AT THE GATE
My stomachs a churnin', heart slammin my chest
Clutch she's a burnin', with all the rest!

Sweat blurs my vision, as I stare at the gate
I'm on a mission, don't let me be late!

Can't hear my engine, in the roar of the pack
but I know she's screamin', sends shivers up my back!

Hold down that wheelie, as the gate drops
keep 'er straight really, smooth through the chops!

They're closing in fast, and my heart starts to burn
no one wants to be last, in the first turn!

Can't remember the race, whether I won or not
there's a smile on my face, 'cause I got the hole shot!

the time on this forum has saved me from bordem,
so many posts, that nobody can sort em,
Ive laughed and been mad, but all for a best,
its my place to meet people and get *** off my chest,
So why do i do this, you know, chatting and stuff
for the love of the ride and act manly and tuff,
met a lot of great people, MJP is jsut one,
tore some tread off our tires and ripped it up in some sun,
tom came and joined us on his 250 suzuk,
what a friggin day, suited up in our boots,
I would rather be riding everyday of the week,
then be writing this poem, about to fall asleep,
I know joe is laughing at our yankeeish jokes,
probably sitting around with himself and his blokes,
elko is writing the "WAY TO FIX YOUR BIKE" and were all just waiting to see what he insights,
time after time I see the same ole post,
"MY BIKE IS NOT RUNNING DAMMIT" so we start are ole roast,
some having fun and some try to solve it,
but in the end, we all fix the problem,
paul is the man when it comes to this writing,
PAUL!!! you should spend more time riding,
Chud is hilarious and with witful remarks,
still laughing at him his jokes when its time to depart,
hairscramble and durty gurl the shes of the bunch,
probably better than all of us, at racing and stunts,
yz is the man and need I say more, any one who rides a yamaha is down for sure,
not to put down the others right now,
but it seems your bikes always breakdown, lol
ML is the master and he makes it well known,
just look at his name its all to be shown,
for the rest of the bunch, im sorry I missed ya,
my fingers are sore from typing with blisters.

One day I was sitting alone in my house,
Idly clicking away with my mouse.
I was searching the web for something to read,
When a thread from DR satisfied that need.

After reading a few of these famous DR forums,
(You know, all the ones that have DL screaming "Decorum"!)
I made an account in hopes to expand my knowledge base,
I ended up just raising my post count like it was a race!

I've stayed up for all hours of the night,
Chatting with Woods and trying to calm down a few fights.
I've listened to stories from Paul B,
and read the ramblings of a Marine named DC.
Spider and 2ride gave me a new name,
While Sanders has reached a level of DR fame.

I've joked around with Will, Quazy, and 230,
and met some cool girls like Lindsey and Durty.
I can talk to Pat about Ziggy and Bob,
and when I need to know jetting, Skip and Chud are on the job.

Elk became my DR boyfriend,
and Maple started the "chud's mom" trend.
Daggit has given us some cool videos,
while 92's jersey is keeping us on our toes.

ML tells us all about the joys of ice cream,
and Bill has a new sled that sparkles and gleams.
MJP showed us how he rides in the sand,
and MM taught us about riding forbidden land!

Woods keeps us entertained and constantly on "topic",
which feeds our DR addiction that's almost toxic.
Tigger occasionally joins in the fun,
and they both help to make some broken bikes run!

To anyone I forgot, I didn't mean to leave you out,
but writing this poem was hard, so no need pout.
I've had a blast being a part of DR,
lots of good things have come out of it so far.

Very nice Paul! No 125 for me though. I'd get a 250 if I went with a full size bike.

he's full of knowledge and fire.
If I said I didn't like him,
you can call me a liar.

who cleans his bike after every ride.
On any issue he'll speak his mind,
and more often than not I'm on his side.

I know a guy named Woods,
with a pal we know as Tigger.
Send a jersey around the world,
to some crumpet head, go 'figger!

I know a guy named Woods,
who knows stuff about bikes.
Can we keep it on topic,
instead of Moms and the likes?

I know a guy named Woods,
been around these parts for years.
Will teach me how to clean my bike,
and how to change my gears.

I know a guy named Woods,
who dotes his car, bike and wife.
I'd hate to see him banned for life,
on account of some errant strife.

I know a guy named Woods,
who needs a dose of decorum.
So we can have him back,
on this great dirtbike forum.

My brother is not a fan of MX but doesnt mind watching it sometimes, but still nott his thing, but he writes poems, in like 2 mins that rock, here is one of his MX ones.

"motocross"

Dirt bike riders ride all day having fun,
the chances of becoming pro... slim to none,
Tis' a dangerous sport with high speeds and jumps in between,
other riders can bump or knock you off being cruel or mean,
a sport not meant for the faint hearted or nicest of all,
talks of jumps and broken bones is what these riders recall,
bystanders watch the races for support or maybe a stall,
a rider may crash, stumble or be run over from a fall,
money can be made but mostly spent,
sometimes this sport can come before the rent,
so much fun yet tears have been cried,

no one here seems truely satisfied,
honestly a great sport full of laughetr and cheer,
hard to talk because no one can hear,
jumps all day, no energy, your done
what and expierenece but still not for everyone.

pretty funny huh, i like my bros poems and he does them so fast and funny as hell
