you know something's wrong when, you wait patiently all week until saturday to watch what you enjoy most in life. but your so mad before the race is over the only way you can stand to finish watching it is with the tv muted. i've always respected david bailey, or is it david bailey stewert jr jr??, and his motorcycle insight untill this years racing season. i'm always the quiet one and am perfectly happy just being able to flip over to this web site which untill now i have not been a registered member of, and read the great race coverage of the past weekend. but finally enough is enough. log me in and give me a place to shout out to someone about this. keep kickin butt rc, u the man.. david bubba bailey, get a job somewhere else and quit ruinin my life..

Quit ruining your life? hes the one in the wheel chair. I think davy does a very good job. he just highlights those who are on top. stewert is good and so are the rest but your right RC is the man.

yes, quit ruining my life, as you may also do. that is until you are more up to speed with what is going on in the world of motocross. my post never mentioned anything about davids disability, rather his inability as a commentator and race announcer. i totally respect david and his accomplishments in his unfortunately short motocross racing carrer, as i have even been to his familys track in axton virginia to race more than once. and seeing as how you have'nt saw any motocross races from this year, per your post in another message board post that you have only saw one or two on espn, and we all now that oln is showing all the mx races this year. so untill you get more informed with what's going on in my sport dont bother responding to my posts.. sorry to be a little snappy, but im tired of hearing bubba, bubba, bubba from david bailey... and now stewart has realized he cant beat rc, and i seriously doulbt that we will see him race another outdoor this year. thank goodness for that anyway..

I just like that they have someone who is a champion and know's what they're talking about commentating instead of some random retard like they do at the X games. I don't know what it is, but I get pissed when I see people commentate a sport that they've never been involved in. At least Baily can talk the talk because he's walked the walk. Some of the X Games announcers were pretty weak. What was up with that one guy? Quit calling them bridesmaids!!!

No kidding, that was seriously annoying. The guys in the booth call the wrong tricks all the time. They have so many riders out there that would love to commentate I'm sure.

Im not defending bubba stewart, but he is living the dream of someone his age, wether he wins or loses. At that age i wished i could have raced with the likes of rick johnson, david bailey, or the guy that won the first supercross I ever saw, the rinestone cowboy. any guesses on who that is? Not being disagreeabel, Im just glad I can watch the races from my recliner in 100 degree heat.

correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't it David Bailey who made the comment, "Ricky wins every race because all the other guys don't train hard enough, and they get paid too much. When I was racing there were at least five RC's at every race, and any one of them could win on any weekend", or at least it was something to that effect.
to me that comment implied that Ricky really wasn't that good, but rather had all the wins handed to him because all the other guys are lazy.
When is he going to wake up and realize that Ricky really is that good. He trains twice as hard as anyone else, and he's got nerves of steel to ride on the edge of crashing his brains out everytime he lines up for a moto.
If I was physically able to stay on pace with Ricky I probably still wouldn't do it cause it would scare the crap out of me going that fast.
Much respect to Ricky.

I somewhat agree with that statement though. I don't see how riders are getting paid so much money to lose races every weekend. I mean, Windham just got resigned with Honda and makes a million more then he did his last contract. Why would you give someone a raise that hasn't even won a race in over a year? Is RC worth as much as he gets paid? I think his trophey collection speaks for it self, but to give guys these HUGE deals to lose is crazy. You won't more money? Then go accomplish something! At least back in Bailey's day a race was really up for grabs with names like his, Ward, Johnson, etc. Less is more, live pure, die poor.

I think it's a little more complicated than what happens on race day as to how much you are worth. "Star Value" has a lot to do with it, and how good certain personalities reflect the product they are trying to sell, because after all, selling a product is really the bottom line. Travis pastrana hasn't won a race in how long? yet if he were to get serious about racing, I mean really serious, Suzuki would re-sign him in a heartbeat for a substantial amount of salary because he has great value as a personality. So to ask why someone gets paid to lose is missing the point. They're not getting paid to lose, they're getting paid to represent a product.
With the exception of Johnny O Mara, or Bob Hannah, I don't think any other rider in the past has had a training regimen as vigorous as RC's. Do I think the other guys are lazy? no. I think RC's training is at a level that other guys find impossible to equal for the most part. Could anyone do it including you or me? probably, but are we? no. Because it is too damn hard for us. My version of training hard would be considered a warm-up excercise for any of the top 10 in the pro ranks.

I'll agree with you on the starpower... If we all had motocross as a carear though then we wouldn't have to worry about things like working and we could train all day long. Less is more, live pure, die poor.

I would dig that, a little time in the gym, then go to the track for a couple hours. Go home and sleep. Get up and repeat. I'd be all over that.
Your right. I have no desire to train anything after putting in a 16 hour double shift, I just want to sleep. The gym schedule gets put to the side because of my erratic work schedule, then I feel guilty for not going, then frustrated because I know I should, then I quit for awhile. When I start going again it hurts, and I feel weak. By the time I get going good, I'll start having to work double shifts again, and I start that viciuos cycle over.

....that comment is actually true...hes reffering to when all week Ricky is training hard and working his butt off, Bubba is out there at the car shop wondering what size spinners he should put on his new expensive car...the difference is like the most obvious thing in the world...and people are wondering why bubba isnt winning anymore races...its because hes living the "fame" life right now...hes only 19...well soon 20...but now that hes getting serious about racing...hes doing great...he beat ricky twice at supercross ! he finally learned that he couldnt win the race on the first lap..he had to be patient...so ya David Bailey is right...
*and im not bad mouthing bubba, im just saying that he is going through the same thing that RC went through...moved up to 250's and was always on the ground...but now hes winning supercross races and he isnt worrying anymore....sombody said this but i cant remember who..but they said if Carmicheal cant beat Jeremy Mcgraths record...then Bubba will... Bubba is the next Ricky Carmicheal.
