Just got my son KTM50 jr for christmas only ran 1 tank of gas and the trans has locked up. I have never worked on any kind of bike before. I pulled the cover off to see what I could find and the best I can see is if I try two turn the clutch shaft it is very hard to turn and sounds like there is metal friction rubing any tips would be helpful.

No. Because he said the bike will run, but the trans is locked. If he siezed it, it wouldn't run. Right?

The bike is not new it is a 2007 model. I checked the fluid when I got it and it was full of trans fluid, and was full when I pulled the side cover off. But yes the bike still runs fine just will not move. I put a wrench  on the nut on the clutch shaft after I pulled the cover off and tryed to turn it by hand, it would turn but very hard but you could tell it was still turning the engine to because you could here the compression as you turned it. Somthing is in a bind so I took the nut of the clutch shaft to try to get a little deeper in to it and the clutch unit would not come off the shaft. Did no if you have to have a puller or not.

Hey I fixed many SX-50s......I'll just P.M him.

That thing only takes 150-175 ml of Motorex ATF ONLY!!!! no oil fer automatics that would only make the shoes slip and never engauge in the clutch hub.

Check your messages Little Ktm dude!
