I'm new to riding and I need some help. It took me a long time to talk my parents into letting me even think about a dirt bike, let alone ride one. Now that I've gotten this far I'm completely lost. I honestly couldn't tell you the difference between a 2-stroke and a 4. By what I'm told that's pretty pathetic. But before I decide just to go jump on a bike, I'd rather learn about what I'm riding on and how it works. So far every time I ask riders around here about it, being that I'm only fifteen and a girl, they laugh in my face and tell me I should just stick to make-up. It's hard to get taken seriously, I expected that much. But if anyone here could offer me any advice, I'd be more than willing to listin, and I'd *really* appreciate it.

if i were u i would probably go with a 2 stroke eventhough a 4 stroke has more power, being girls are weaker than guys, a 2 stroke is lighter, easier to start, and if they break its a lot cheaper to fix and if a 4 stroke breaks it'll be a lot more to fix. It also depends if you take care of a 4 stroke if you don't it will be a big bill. But it is a lot funner to ride a 2 stroke. Also if u get a 4 stroke u gotta be pretty serious, but it depends on wat you want. i love my rmz250 but i would love to go back to a 125 2 stroke . Make a good decision, and do a lot research on wat you like, this is just my opinion.

if u get a bike tell wat kind u got,THANKS

A 4 stroke engine has a

intake stroke is down

compression stroke is up

ignition stroke is down

exhaust stroke is up

of the piston in the cylinder to complete one cycle.

A two stroke combines the

ignition, exhaust, and intake all in one stroke downward.

Compression stroke is the 2nd stroke upward.

No a 2-stroke combines the ignition and the intake, and the exhaust and compression strokes.

That should explain everything.

a good bike would be a eletric start 4 stroke a crf230 or i think yamaha's bike is a ttr 230 i would look at something like that for your first bike maybe even a xr250 if you can find one ethier way a 4 stroke is easier to learn on and the eletric start is nice when you kill it all the time while learning

What is your height?

Good bikes that I would suggest for someone like you would be a CRF/XR100, TT-R125, or something similar like a kawasaki or a suzuki. The first two bikes that I mentioned, I strongly back. They hold up very well, and they are really good bikes for a beginner. They teach them the basics like using the clutch and as a beginner, you will feel really comfortable on one. I wouldn't suggest a CRF/TT-R230 becuase they weight so much. You will hate that bike if you were a beginner because they are so heavy. You would only have fun on one of those bikes if you rode in a circle. I think the TT-R125LE would be good for you because it has the electric start which is nice for someone who will most likely be stalling the bike a lot when they are learning. You will be able to touch the ground quickly and use them as struts if you need them and to dog paddle when you get better and you start climbing stuff. Then once you master that bike and you have some good skills down, you can move up to a bigger bike. Hope this helps.
