1.) 2005 YZ 250 (2nd for the dirt I might try the lazy mans fast bike, a crf 450, but top of the list has got to be a two strike! That YZ rips!

2.) Exile bulldozer (http://www.exilecycles.com/bike_builds.htm)

3.) Suzuki GSX-R 750, piped and chipped

Now I got every kind of riding covered!!! How good would life be!?!

Although a 500 is a fast bike I personally would much rather have a KTM 380SX. To be more specific, my dad's bike. It has the power of or possibly even more than a 500, yet feels like a 250 in wieght, turning, and jumping. The only problem is that KTM does not make a 380 anymore.

I'm not sure where you live, but the only dealership in Northern California that has any 2005 YZ250's is http://www.roseville-yamaha.com/ and they only have 1 left.  I have a few friends that work there and I was going to make a visit to the parts counter when I saw mine.  I went in to get an oil seal for my fork, I left with a bike

they kick butt AND throw crap over whoever is behind you.

Motocrosser250, i like the way you think... there aren't too many poeple who are like you. thats cool that you like the old school bikes.

and i personally dont think that the KTM 380SX has the power of a CR500. And what year is your dad's 380 "Dirt dude"? just curious. when my dad was little, him and his brother use to ride yamaha 360's.

long live the TRUE big bore bikes

I have had 2 KTM's a 1997  360SX and a 1999 380SX and they were nothing even close to the power of my CR500

and maybe the reason that your ktms dont seem close to your 500 is because the 500 make 60 horsepower really early in the power band. if you have ever seen a dyno chart for a 500 they are almost verticle. the go from 0 to 60 horsepower in an instant. but the power band is short though. once it hits peak power, it drops of drastically. and todays four strokes pull hard fast and then even out, but they pull for a long time in the mid range. their curve is smooth and long unlike the 500's
