How do you stay in shape? Anyone use Wii sports?

I go to the gymn every day during my lunch break, but it does not stop me from gettin older.

Wii fit can help somebody who is out of shape see some results, but it won't get you fit enough for any real activity. I run on my treadmill a lot and lift weights a few times a week. I was playing flag football on Saturday mornings, but winter kind of killed that.

Oh, and make sure you warm up before doing going all out on Wii Sports, I threw out my shoulder playing baseball on that game.

honestly i do 30 mins on the eliptical machine every day. also lift free weights 3 days a week for half a hour starting at 150# and working up with 3 reps at each weight or as many as i can do. then curl for 20 mins or so. i also hit my punching bag and speed bag almost every day. then i sit on the couch and eat cookies

I don't know what you guys keep talking about, but when I workout on the Wii Fit consistently, I see results. I guess I may have a V8 installed; I can run a mile(on the sidewalk) and burn 4 pounds off real quick.
Plus the system even tracks your results. It even notices if your weight dramatically changes (letting someone use your login that weights 10 pounds more/less than yourself).
I just see the game as a positive effect on kids, instead of them sitting there being completely inactive. Not saying to rely on the wii to give you a complete workout, just use it to help improve your daily workout.
PS. Do like ATVman said, my friend got hurt playing the bowling game, LOL!!

Get a deck of playing cards, a peice of paper, write down 4 exercises you want to do. ( Crunches, pushups, benchpresses,etc etc) then Label 1 hearts, 1 diamonds, 1 spades, and 1 clubs. Draw a card , (IF it is 2-10 then whatever suit it is Look at excercise next to suit and do the exercise number of times on the card.) IF it is J,Q,K,A it = 10 and you draw and flip the next card until you get a 2-10, ADD them up and then then check the suit of the last card that was drawn and begin exercising)
Example....... Hearts= bench press with 90 lbs (DO NOT DO YOUR MAX these are based on REPS not MAX WEIGHT) Diamonds= squats with 10 lb dumbbells. spades = Sit ups, and Clubs= Curls with 20lb dumbbells. Draw first card it is an 8 of spades, NOw I must do 8 sit ups, draw next card its a Q, draw next its a K draw next its a 3 of hearts, NOW i must do 23 Bench presses.. ( like i said its reps not max weight) CRITIQUE IT TO YOUR FANCY if you dont have free weights then do pushups, crunches, squats, lunges... Usually takes 40-60 minutes depending on how fast you can do each set of reps.
In My experience this is a very effective workout YOU WILL BE SORE!!

and best part is its virtually free!! cards are 50 cents at a dollar store!

I think my workouts are better then cards personally.
I personally don't do those workouts cause I don't have a bench at home or any weights. But I do about an hour or a little longer of ab and core workouts: pushups, planks, supermans, 6 inches, these ankle things, bycicles, crunches, and these other things that I can't remember what they are called. I do 3 sets of 10 pushups, a minute of regular planks, then a minute each on side planks, 30 regular crunches then 30 to each side, then 2 sets of 1 minute supermans,then 30 of these workouts where you lay on the floor with your knees bent and you reach for you ankles and then you do it to the side so i do 30 forward and 30 to both sides, 2 sets of 1 mnutes 6 inches, 2 sets of 1 minute bycicles, then do the planks again and finish off with the push ups. I take usually a 1 minute break between each workout. and then i have been working on my track every day and that helps build some upper body muscle. but remember YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE BIG, just fast, agile, and durable.

My workout is for people that have 1hr max a day to dedicate to working out and can not get to a gym.

I'm not arguing. Im just saying cards aren't very consistent and most people don't have a bench or dumbells.
that is why I said what I personally do. the workout i just gave is a killer and can be done in less then an hour. the other workout i gave from racerX are mostly all stuff that can be done outside of a gym too.

I believe i stated that you should critique it, or do you not understand what critiquing is? customize it to your needs replace bench with pushups and etc
