I guess Durell asked a pretty good question since everyone has a different opinion.

Good point KX rider!

You should not run a 2 stroke out of gas.  I don't  believe I mentioned that you should... I simply wanted to make sure the petcock was not left open to gravity pressurize the carb...and therefore leak into the reeds/cylinder over the winter.

I drain the tank AND the carb when I tuck it in (after doing all needed maintenance).

I also remove the air filter and put my Twin-Air wash cover on its place and put a plug in the silencer.  Then the bike is up on a stand so the weight is off the suspension/wheels etc.

In the spring I put a fresh oiled filter in, fresh-premix, remove the exhaust plug and am ready to ride.

District  16 hare scrambles hummm well I have district 17 on my sites calendar of upcoming events well I guest I should make sure its up dated. Any who Darcys has yet to post the 06 local district 17 MXC events for the UORRA. Julys a bit of time a way to. So no telling where or who Ill be racing but I well be racing! Humm to think The OMA Nationals start next month and I am still trying to get a better bike to race with hee hee sadly I dragged the 440 in the shop for its season tear down I dread  having to race the beast next year but a bike in hand is better then no bike at all I always say. As my close friend DNR can testify to that he sold his with out a replacement in hand now he is sad and crying he got NO YZ . hee hee

Any way I could always add other nationals to the events calendar.  Come by my site and check out some of the district 17 events I have listed and or post some in the forum some place a date and time with the local event and I could see about adding your local events as well.
