King of the Hill- Travis Whitlock
Racer X / Malcolm Smith Motorsports N.A.H.A. Pro Hillclimb Series: Round 2, San Bernardino, CA
The world’s fastest motorcycle hillclimbers returned to Glen Helen Raceway Park for the third-consecutive year for southern California’s only national hillclimb event. Over 3000 spectators witnessed California’s Robie Peterson win the 450cc class and the 451-700 classes aboard his KTMs, while Nebraksa’s Harold Waddell dominated the Open Exhibition class on his Suzuki and posted the fastest time of the weekend with a 11.837 second run.
Multi-time national champion Travis Whitlock from Utah won the King of the Hill event where the top five riders in each class receive one shot at the hill at the end of the weekend. “I had an off weekend, but it felt really good to finish with a solid run,” said Whitlock. “It was a good event and there’s a lot of great competition this year.”
Former two-time AMA 125cc National MX Champion won the second annual Cross Over challenge. With all of the riders borrowing hillclimb bikes, Dymond’s second run edged out Supermoto racer David Pingree and former AMA Supercross rider Phil Lawrence.
The event was sponsored by Racer X, Malcolm Smith Motorsports, Troy Lee Designs, K&N Filters, Skat-Trak, Spider Grips, and Pole Position Raceway. For more information check out:
