i have a 2004 yz 85 with new piston and ring. started after kicking 2 hrs. rode for about 10 min. and bogged down and hasn't started since. new plug and clean carb. what could be the problem??? i have done everything to get this bike to start. i dont know what else to do. any advise would be greatly appreciated.

yes.i grabbed the clutch to down shift and it bogged down like i hit the kill switch. not like it ran outta gas.what do u think it is?

Did you measure the cylinder or place the ring in the cylinder and measure the ring end gap at 3 locations in the cylinder?

i personally didnt put the rings in. so im not sure if the fuy did or not

You should pull the cylinder off and see what the ring/piston/cylinder look like. Did you run the bike through a break in procedure? You could take a compression reading, but it sounds like you dont have compression.

you may have had a short on your kill switch from when they put the jug back together.  i have had a short in my kill button once.
