well, since many of you already know, here goes.

yesterday I participated in my first race.  I don't have time to write about it at the moment, but I will be

It was the Glen Helen 6-Hour Grand Prix.  I was on a team with two other women.  I think we did rather well, and I had an absolute blast.

More info to come later

Right on, team races are some of the best ones to start off with.  My first race was a 4hr harescramble that I teamed up with my Dad on.  I caught the racing bug, but him not so much, he gets to hold the camera now when I go racing lol.  I'm looking forward to reading about your race and seeing some pics.

I think she already went to teach school. She said her dad took tons of photos. I'm sure they will be up later.

Thanks Guys!  It really was a great time.  I have TONS of photos, just have to get them up.

Alright, so I will be doing an 'official' write up but here's the story for now:

The course was a little over 8 miles long...it included MX, enduro-X, and trail elements.  Our team rode a total of 13 laps in 6 hours:  6 by Breanna, 4 by me, and 3 by Lori.

Lori started our race, it was Le Mans style, so she had to run to the bike.  She did her first two laps, and then it was my turn to jump on.  Almost immediately out of the pits you hit the enduro-X section...the logs were HUGE (at least to me..haha) and I tipped over going over the second one.  I bent the hand guard which made the throttle sticky....It got progressively worse and I rode my whole first lap with the throttle either all on or all off...I stalled in some silt beds because I couldn't get the engine revving in time  At one point it took all of my strength to get the throttle to move at all so I had a tough first lap...talk about arm pump!  We got it fixed and no problems for the rest of the day

Lori and Breanna are wicked good riders...fast and consistent.  It was nice to talk to them and get to hear about their racing careers.

Anyway, after the logs, there was a short motocross section that lead up to the ridges where it was mostly silty hills and ridges...then a large down hill to the "cork screw".  It was a bunch of spirals leading to stairs of a steel bridge...after being thoroughly dizzy, you climbed the stairs, crossed the bridge, and then off to some more moto-x type stuff.  Then we climbed a hill back into the ridges where there were more silt beds and some single track through the trees...That ended at pavement for a bit, then back into some sand washes and some turns, a few tunnels, and back to the pits.

The bike was excellent, and I loved riding it.  I really wish I could have ridden it before hand though.  It packed a lot of power and I was really surprised by it.  Having the giant Honda Sprinter van for a pit was also sweet!  I mean, I felt important to say the least when I pulled up next to the van for gas
