so will i have to keep the clutch down while changing gear up/down like a car? yes or no

Well, yes but its a fluid smooth motion once you get the hang of it.  As you are bringing the clutch lever in, you are moving your foot to shift and then the clutch lever is smoothly brought back out.

With some practice its a very smooth yet fast action.

Hope that makes sense!

I wouldn't recommend one for a 10 year old.

so easy even a caveman can do it(shifting that is)an 85 2stk will scare the poop out of this kid when the power comes on,plus my boy is 10 and doesnt even come close to the height needed to even hold a full size bike upright for a few seconds let alone ride it,get a bike that when your on it you can get at least one foot comfortably on the ground worry about the power later.

I doubt either is around; but who knows.  I wish I had at least kept the KX.  At that time era, bikes were improving so much each year you "just had to have the new ones"; so I sold the ones I had to trade up.  At the time you didn't miss them.

Now it would be cool to have them.
