are reeds worth it?

Just wanted some more low end power out of my 96 kx125. do u think reeds would help this to the exstent that you will be able to notice. and what are the best reeds for the price. i know vforce makes good reeds but their freaking exspencive.

no, i don't think they are worth it at all. they are supposed to add 1 horsepower, but that is bs. they help throttle response, go with oem if you need new reeds. for bottom end i'd adjust my gearing, whats your rear sprocket set at? 52? 50?

From what i've read the new v force reeds don't add horsepower but give the engine lots of snap.

If you want more bottom Carbon Tech makes different tension reeds for different powerbands. Generally speaking I've found that different reeds will give slightly different throttle response as will a different reed cage (Rad Valve, V-Forace)
I think I would start with changing my gearing changes to see if that that doesn't do the trick.
