After reading about Bill's crash and burn this past weekend, I thought about all my wrecks over the years racing bikes.  So what were my injuries?  And what injuries have you received over the years (or recently)?  I've crashed really hard but the only injuries I can remember were:  Broken Foot when I cased a rock in a trials event, with my left foot caught underneath my footpeg;  Broken Nose, Cheek Bones, Jaw Bones and Loss of Teeth when I did a face plant during a grand prix race in the desert; and a Broken Collar Bone (right side) from an endo during a trail ride in Canada.

Paul I feel like a light weight compared to you.  Mine consist of broken collar bone while practicing for a race over jumped a sand double.  A few twisted knees.
A couple of times seeing stars, broken ribs (2 times) both on high sides one braking into a turn after a double on sand covered hard pack the other just hit the front brake in some lose stuff while on a sighting lap.  A few scars from skin that is still on the track.

Almost forgot the broken toes hit a stump while doing some woods riding outside of Pensacola back in 84 on my trusty old 82 KDX 450 2 stoke.  My boot was a bloody mess.

My worst injury and hopefully my last was dislocating my left shoulder after landing on it. I cannot afford MRI's, even with insurance.

My worst wipeout was on a street bike....Ended up on crutches for a couple of weeks so it wasn't all that bad...ie, I didn't die.  But I distinctly remember, after falling off, doing a mental check to see if I was seriously hurt.  Nope, everything seems OK, so you might as well stand up now...and then I did another complete 360, head over heels.  So much for thinking I had stopped rolling!

I fell asleep at the wheel once too, on a bike not in a car...luckily only for a few seconds...just in time to see I was 5 feet from the edge of the road on a twisty highway.

Let's see now, four years ago i was in a serious four wheeler accident  in which i had my first hele ride to a head trauma unit in St.Louis.  Now i have left side nerve damage,"moderate" broken wrist from my daughters 50, hit a double at the local track 2 years ago and landed stiff, broke left foot in 3 places. Most recently, broken nose, and another break in left foot. We all know this is a risky sport but we accept it and deal with the injuries, and at my age i dont heal nearley as fast!

My riding injuries prior to this weekend have been some broken ribs, a few concussions, busted up knuckles (darn roost), hyper extended elbow, and a couple of broken bones. Of course this is aside from all the normal cuts bruises and scrapes that come with riding.  Once I hit a dog at top speed on an XR100. I lost all the skin on my right fore arm and was out cold.

My non riding injuries include stab wounds, broken toes, broken noses (I've broke my nose some dozen times), I chipped all my front teeth and they are still loose, broken fingers, hyper extended knee, pulled groin, cut the tip off one of my toes, sprained wrist, sprained ankle, multiple concussions, shot with an arrow (thanks Nick), broken blood vessels behind my eyes (related to head injury), Dislocated jaw, semi dislocated shoulder, whiplash, back injury, over 100 stitches.

I think that about covers it. My older brothers list is very similar.  We spent so much time in the ER my parents feared they would be questioned about child abuse. hahaha

i'm interested in hearing about the stab wounds bill..

my injuries riding, i've lucked out, many bruises, some oretty nce cuts, and a black eye and a sprained thumb, kick starting my bike over with soft bottomed pumas don't count, that leaves nastty bruises.

non riding, i've hyper extended both my knees, my right one 3 times since 6th grade, my left just once in 7th grade during a soccer game, i've broke my pinky which never got set, so it is crooked, and i've broken my nose which is also crooked, shot with a ten pump bb gun, had some nasty pedal bike crashes. and that is about it i think, i've lucked out haha

Hahaha which one Pat? I've been stabbed with a hunting knife, screw driver, fork, nail gun, sled trailer, and a rusty old nail.

Jeesh, Bill, it sounds like you spent some time in the big house with all those "home made" stab wounds!!

I've only spent one night in jail! hahaha That was because my friend matched the description of someone who robbed a gas station we filled up at.  We got pulled over by the cops and they found alcohol in my truck. I was underage, and my parents were out of town. I had to stay most of the night. hahahaha

The hunting knife was my brother and my cousin (Nick again!) play fighting with my hunting knife.  I was just sitting on my bed when they swung around with the knife held away from them as the wrestled over it. and accidently stabbed me just below my knee.  That hurt a lot!

The screw driver happend at work.  I was trying to break a screw loose on a prox switch that was covered in grime while my journeyman was driving the golf cart. I slipped and stabbed my hand right through the meat between the tumb and pointer finger.  Yeah! Ouch!

My brother stabbed me with the fork once while we were eating lunch.  he just looked over and stabbed me in the leg with it.  He said he didn't think it would actually break the skin, let alone stick like it did.  Lets just say my brother wasn't the deepest thinker. hahaha

I tagged myself in the leg with a nail gun on accident before. Hurts like hell! hahaha Stupid mistake.

I used to assemble sled trailers for a powersports store.  The wooden decks are held down by self tapping sheet metal screws.  I've stabbed my hands on them screws more times than I can count when tightening down axle bolts.

My parents attic was full of rusty old nails sticking through the wood in all kinds of odd places.  While digging through there one time I lost balance and stabbed my shoulder on one.
