I just was recently installing new grips on my yz250f and i was useing of course new pro taper grips and pro taper grip glue but i did just like what a mechanic showed me in the shop on how to install grips when i was done getting them on i waited like 2 hours then i noticed that my throttle was sticking a littl bit do you know how to fix the glue that got in the throttle that is making it stick like is there any kind of adhiesive or lubricant that would take care of that. because it only sticks when i full pin the throttle other wise it does not stick plz get back to me i need to get this fixed and i am new to this site thank you all the riders and have a great day!!!!

pull the rubber boot of the housing take the 2-4 bolts out of the housing then slip the 2 (remeber which is which!) then once you have done this slide the throttle tube off sand the glue off. & then in the housing it self if you see glue carefully either sand it out or scrape it out. re assymble elec tape the joints (cracks) where the housing meets to keep out dust slide the boot back over the asymble & your good to go

Ya pull off the the rubber then pull it apart but becareful not to let the brake cable come off the throttle you will never get it back on it will drive you crazy then scrape all the glue off maby it's a good time to sand or buff the bars then put some carb cleaner or some wd 40 on it then put it back togther and it will have that sexy snap back

You might have got glue in the hole like you said but did you put the new grips on with the throttle tube still on the handle bars or did you take it off when installing the new grips?

If you got glue in the hole then just remove the tube and scrape the glue from inside the tube then reinstall.

If there is no glue inside you might have pushed the tube into the end of the handle bar when installing the new grip. If this is the case then just loosen the throttle screws and move the throttle until the end of the handle bar dose not touch the inside of the end of throttle tube.

hahaha welcome to the board! it is like that here most often, come back often, don't be afraid to ask questions. was it glue or was the throttle tube just to far down on the handlebars?

and you know what? more then not having a sticky throttle, you now can take apart and successfully put your throttle assembly back together, that is something you will never lose haha.
