I took a drive a couple of days ago and when i went to stop the throttle sort of stuck and it was wide open so i shut it off, and i thought that i broke the throttle cable. I took the cover off the top of the carb and heard the needle go back in place and i looked inside the cover and it was wet with some dirt, and i looked in where the needle goes it was also a little wet and a little dirty. What caused this maybe water going up the pipe where the pipe connects to the cylinder? Or the seal for the top of the carb needs to be replaced? If anyone could help me it would greatly be appriciated!

Since the topic is about carb problems i would like to state that the choke on my carb does not lift up so it does not work. I start 1st kick ushally but after a couple of days it will take a couple extra kicks to start is this normal? Does it matter that i don't have to use the choke to start.

A couple extra kicks is fine. Your choke should work. Is it rusted up or something?
You found dirt in your carb so you need to take it off and clean it completely to start.

the choke is not rusted i am pretty sure it just doesn't go up, and the top of the carb was dirty where the clip goes i took off the carb a while ago and i cleaned it and put it back on, but i am wondering how a little bit of water and dirt got in there because i cleaned the carb no that long ago. Also i am wondering why the throttle stuck probably because of the wetness that went in where the needle goes but that is what i am trying to figure out how the dirt and water got in there, just where the needle and clip goes, it was just a little wet and some dirt.

Does anyone have any clue of the answer to this is? Could it be the seal for the top of the carb?

Well josh, the only way it looks like dirt or water could get in there is through the top chamber some how, item #16005. Replaceing the seal would be a good place to start. Also make sure there is no cracks and the screws were torqued down right and check the vent hoses to see if there is any dirt comming up through them.

Did you get the air filter wet. It might have sucked in moisture through a dirty filter?

no i'm pretty sure the air filter wasn't wet, it wasn't wet to me when i took it out yesterday. And the filter isn't that dirty, it's dirty but not enough to talk about sort of.
